I'd probably sing something that comes as part of the pack, not the one song on the album that's already on the Rock Band 2 disc.

But, hey, to each his/her own ;)

This is an amazing album, but where's the Audioslave, The Final Countdown, and more Muse?

Awesome! This is the best Rock Band DLC yet, except for maybe The Pixies' "Doolittle" album pack. Can't wait to snatch it up and play along with one of the greatest albums ever recorded- not that I haven't played along with a real guitar...

Not only will I have to pick up the Rock Band version, it looks like I'll be buying the re-released album as well. B-sides, FTW!

If they release some of PJ's other albums (vs., Vitology, Yield, Riot Act) I'd probably drop whatever I'm doing and finally cave and buy RB immediately. SCHWING

I am fuel
You are friends
We've got the means to make amends
Drop the leash, drop the leash

Everything has chains
Absolutely nothing's changed
Take my hand, not my picture
Spilled my tincture

I get the words
And then I get to thinkin'
I don't wanna think
I wanna feel
How do I feel
How do I

There would be so many awesome Rock Band moments if they ever released the entire Pearl Jam catalog.

I don't even consider myself a Pearl Jam fan, but this is a very, very good album. I can't wait to play through the whole thing.

That's sort of the way I feel. When I was younger and this was big I'd already moved on to more indie and punk stuff, but looking back, this really was a solid album. I'll definitely be picking this up as well. Probably need to add some more points to my account first, though. Damn you Peggle!!!

Oops, I take that back. I can't stay mad at Peggle.

I bet this album would be fun to play even if you aren't a big Pearl Jam fan.

Side note: Is it possible to play through an album with no breaks between tracks?

Not without a complete break but if you go to the "Sort by Artist" mode in Quick Play, you can play the whole album with no additional loading time (just the usual summary inbetween songs). There should be also an additional Challenge for the album in the Tour mode...

Yes, you can. In quickplay when sorted by album, you can select the album and it will play the entire thing. There will also be an album challenge set up for it as well if the past is any indicator.

I know you can do a playlist, I meant no menus at all just play it straight through as though you are listening to the cd.

I think you are always going to have that little break between songs where the audience claps and they give you your percentage. It wont actually kick you out to a menu if you are playing a setlist though.

If you choose the album name, it will play the entire thing as a playlist... you still have to pause between tracks to get your percentage and streak. Kind of annoying on occasion (like going from "Doll" to "Monkey Wrench" on Foo Fighter's The Colour and the Shape), but still worthwhile.

I wonder if the RB version is gonna have the remixed tracks. They sound much better than the original album.

Anyone know if this is coming to Wii too?

My super-duper deluxe version is due to arrive from the tenclub on Monday. Can't wait.

The game versions of all songs are, by nature, remixed before being put into the game. They do the same thing that audio engineers do when remixing an album. Part of the process of taking those individual instrument tracks and working them into game form is adjusting the volume and other sound qualities of those tracks to get the best overall sound possible. This is remixing.

That's not what I'm talking about. As part of the re-issue of Ten, they (well, Brendan O'Brien actually) remixed the album. I was asking if the RB songs will be based on the 1991 version of the album or the 2009 version - hopefully it's the latter.

yes, that is what you're talking about. The re-issued, remixed album, is the same album, only remixed.

re·mix (r-mks)
tr.v. re·mixed, re·mix·ing, re·mix·es
To recombine (audio tracks or channels from a recording) to produce a new or modified audio recording:

Harmonix takes those same tracks, the same ones that made up the songs in the original Ten and the same ones that make up the reissued, remixed, Ten, and they remix them themselves for use in the game.

By that rationale Pearl Jam wasted their time and money having O'Brien spend months remixing the album - they should have waited for Harmonix to do all the work for them.

You can paste a dictionary definition of remix but all that matters is that Harmonix don't fundamentally change the sound of the songs they put into RB. The O'Brien mixes sound very different from the 1991 tracks.

question no one seems to be wanting to answer yet:

Will this be the original mix of the songs as we heard 17 years ago or the hot new better sounding remix coming out next week? Harmonix tends to the tweak the mixes on many of its tracks to make certain instruments stand out more, but I'm wondering if the new Brendan OBrien mix was what they used as a jump off...

It doesn't matter. They're working with the SAME stems (individual instrument tracks), but they adjust the audio levels for us in the game to what they think sounds the best for the game. There is only ONE set of master tracks and that is what they all work with in order to create their special mix of the album, whether that be the reissued album or the playable game tracks.

It will likely sound better than the original, as most of Harmonix remixed tracks do. It's impossible to say if that will sound better than the remixed album itself as that is a matter of opinion.
