Resident Evil 5 producer and all-around Capcom hotshot Jun Takeuchi recently talked to GameDaily about a variety of subjects. Most important to those of you anxious to head back out into the cold is the news that Capcom is considering a multiplatform release for Lost Planet 2, as Takeuchi admits the company is "currently investigating other platforms." Whether those other platforms include the PS3 is anybody's guess right now, but if the first game is any indication, it'll arrive on Sony's platform eventually.
Lost Planet 2 is slated for release next year.

If it ends up being another Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop or somesuch compromise, then no.

Considering that DMC4, RE5 and SFIV all sold better on the PS3, this doesn't really come as much of a surprise.
Personally, I do hope that it does come to the PS3. I never played the first one, because it's apparently a really bad port, but I've watched a friend play it on his 360 and thought it looked pretty cool, and the sequal looks to have a lot of potential too.

Hyams- I didn't play the 360 version, but I played the PS3 version, and I didn't see anything wrong with it. Graphics are good, gameplay is smooth. It doesn't have the extras of Extreme Condition, or whatever that re-release had. It sounds like another fan boi myth tbh.
But hey, correct me if I'm wrong people.

Don't worry PS3owners I'm sure that they'll make a PS3 version a year later.
With a lot more stuff than the other versions, just like the first Lost Planet.

Plus it will look a lot worse than the one released on the 360, just like the first Lost Planet.

Featurepreacher, does the 360 game look better the same way Fallout looks better on the 360 (in other words, the colors are a little different?) or is there an actual noticeable difference other than tiny little technical things that you'd never notice in a million years without looking at high red screenshots with a microscope?

Levi, the difference in graphical quality between the ps3 and 360 version of Lost Planet is stark. A lot more lighting and effects on the 360 version. Textures are higher res. When I mean higher res, just think of the problem with the initial release of Bioshock on the ps3 and how people spotted low res textures on the ps3 version of that game. Moreover, whenever there are a lot of enemies on the screen or when facing a boss, there's terrible slow down on the ps3 version. At times it can become a slide show. So glad that I traded the ps3 version in and got the 360 colonies edition. Loving 360's custom soundtracks as well. It's so nice to listen to the soundtrack from the Metal Gear Series from portable ops to MGS3 and all the way to MGS4 while going after achievements.

The real question is why aren't they developing it for 360 and PS3 simultaneously?
Exclusives are dead.

really? because last I heard ps3 is getting more and more difficult to develop for and projects are getting cut because all game education is geared for DirectX and Xbox. while exclusives aren't feeling any hurt, because they were hired because they know PS3/Xbox, pain is shooting through cross-platform games, mostly because they're hiring poorly educated workers who only know xbox programming (thanks for directx M$) and aren't able to help on the ps3 side of things, so they have a huge pool of xbox programmers and a few well-educated ps3 programmers that are stretched to their limit, and do one of two things: #1 quit, or #2 deliver crap. They don't do it on purpose, they're stressed, short on resources, and tired. Microsoft is ruining the game industry. short and simple.
