It looks like someone at 2K missed the memo. After confirming last week to Joystiq that BioShock 2 had dropped its Sea of Dreams subtitle, 2K has now unconfirmed the news to Eurogamer. So, to reiterate, the full title is, in fact, BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams. It's a shame because we were really hoping to pitch a new subtitle. Alas, it looks like BioShock 2: Big Daddy Day Care just wasn't meant to be.
Joystiq will be spending some quality time with the game in the very near future. Stay tuned.

Ugh. I liked it better without the subtitle. It sounds so cheesy. I suppose it's supposed to be sarcastic or ironic, but whatever, I think it lame.

Nah, I think it sounds fine. I would actually go as far as to say that I prefer it WITH the subtitle.

After getting the new Game Informer with the Bioshock 2 spread I'm less excited than I was prior to getting the magazine. I want to know what this multiplayer concept is for the game because it could really extend the replay value.
I can't be the only one who thinks Bioshock doesn't need a sequel in the first place. The game was awesome and truly stood on its own as one of the best games of this entire generation. It really seems like a pointless cash in that is being made just 'cause. Hopefully I'm wrong and it turns out to be an awesome game but, with Levine not in creative control I have my doubts.

That makes two of us. BioShock is easily one of my favorite games of all-time, and it's with much trepidation that I approach the sequel.

Drop the 2 and just give me the subtitle. This sequel already sounds like a huge deviation from the spirit of its predecessor, so it would be a shame to call it "Bioshock 2."
But, since I am a rabid Bioshock fangirl, of course I am still excited and will be following this closely.

I also don't understand what the heck they are doing with the series. Hopefully it all works out and we get a solid game and not a sea of disappointments.

Surprisingly it takes time to read through tips, sift through e-mails, receive updates. Then, it takes some time to write and post. Why must people always complain about compilation news blogs being slow or behind the others. It has to start somewhere - and apparently most people read a majority of those sites anyway, so what's it matter?

I don't understand why people like/dislike it at all... I'll reserve my opinion until I know how it works with the game itself.

No more cheesy than the game's music. I think the idea is to be so obviously out of place to end up being creepy by way of being cheesy and then put into that context. Played right, it could definitely work out that way. Played poorly...we'll probably end up with the cash-in people seem to be dreading.

No, I like the subtitle. I'm intrigued about how the series is going to play out and a set of 3.

I like subtitles. Is it just me? When Halo: Combat Evolved, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Jak and Daxter and the Precursor Legacy just turned into Halo 2, Resistance 2, and Jak 2, I was a tiny bit upset. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I took it personally, it's just that I thought it came off as a bit lazy.

I don't really think the subtitle is cheesy. In fact, I quite like it . . . and I'm sure there's some deeper meaning behind it, maybe even some hint at the story that we'll get once we beat the game.
If it was Hello Kitty: Sea of Dreams, that would have been cheesy but this is Bioshock we're talking about.
Now, would you kindly stop whining?

How about :
Bioshock 2
"Play it again for the first time"
Who cares wut the title is, as long as it lives up or surpasses the first game...I think it will.

Am I the only one who could care less whether this game has a subtitle or not? I can't believe there is actually a discussion about it going on.

I do/don't care about the subtitle and would prefer if they removed/kept it because it is cheesy/thematically fitting.
I'M ORIGINAL

This will probably get me burned, but....
i didn't really like the first Bioshock. Not my bag. I'll take Socom over Bioshock anyday. i think it's down to me being pretty uninterested in offline games these days.
Knowing the person you just shot is cursing you in real life is so much better than beating AI, then more AI, then more AI. I just rush through single player games now, just for the story.
New games are almost like a new sport to me, rather than the old days where beating the game was the target, getting good at the sport has completely overshadowed the game beating experience for me. As with Socom, I would prefer a £20 online only game to a £40 offline game with some online features tagged on.
Almost a shame that i can't really enjoy an offline game anymore.
