I'm shocked. I take back the bad things I've said about Black Box if they've really gone back and improved the game for PS3 users. I hope they added trophies for the DLC packs, too!

cool , I've already been listening to my own soundtrack of hardcore thrash metal in MP on Killzone 2. hope more developers do this to future games or patch 'em in.

No shit. I've been heavy into KZ2 online for the last couple of days and custom soundtracks are awesome.

So... Why has it taken Sony this long to even consider making it required to add custom sound tracks to every new release? They're slacking on their features, and frankly, it's causing them to slip behind even farther. I guess they're on track with the original XBox by having 20% of their games custom soundtrack compatible, but if they want to be considered any form of competition, well... They might want some requirements that can be understood by all developers.

Ohh nOooo first of all sony doesnt decide the game devs do. 2nd They are most def not slacking on any features (that might have worked in the beginning of last year). 3rd They dont need to do a single thing the ps3 will keep selling and keep growing slowly, Too many people have xbox's and think that its the mighty God of all systems, Let me re-phrase that Too many KIDS (18-) have xbox's and have no idea the ps3 is the same shit but free online. Im tired of hearing ps3 has no games when clearly if u look on any game retailers "coming soon" list you will see that actually xbox has no games an exclusive here and there like halo wars gears ect. but nothing that good.

ummmmm enforcing that over ALL games is just dumb....especially for games with good ass soundtracks like the final fantasy series, Uncharted, etc. Not to mention the games that pretty much require you to hear things running up on you. hard to do with POD blasting in the background.

MS has PATENTED Universal music on game systems, so on the PS3 EACH dev has to add it in themselves. Some games are better suited for this than others....Racing and sports games are the main ones. Then FPS games with Online Multiplayer is also a good chance to use that.

for you to say that Sony is at fault for it not being over the entire system is just wrong as its not their fault

If you were a developer and you paid thousands for a professional, orchestral score, wouldn't you want to make people listen to your music, especially if it is dynamic and changes with the action? Or would you let everyone listen to "I like big butts and I cannot lie" during a dialogue-heavy cutscene?

I think it's proper for Sony to leave it up to devs. There are times where you should listen to the designer's music, and times (maybe online) where you can play what you want.

i'm with popfrogs's opinion. i actually am not a fan of custom sound tracks. and for skate, i actually play without any music. i like to hear the ambience of the city and the wheels on the road.

Holy shit. I'm actually going to go and finish the game now. The retries really piss me off with all the confirmations and countdowns. Not to mention the out of control glitches.
AND CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS. Finally.

Played with the update a bit, for people who have already completed the game the main things you will really appreciate are the improved on-foot controls and the custom soundtrack. The soundtrack is a GREAT addition, but I really wish they would have added trophies for the DLC as well. One minor annoyance is that the game doesn't mute in-game soundtrack when you turn on a custom one, so they're both playing over each other til you turn down the music in-game.

I said the same thing about burnout paradise last year but it got overlooked because it came out in January so don't hold your breath. To me burnout has the most perfect online system ever and skate was on it's way to duplicating it but you cant skate the entire city which is retarded, other then that I agree it should totally be in the running for GOTY

I said the same thing about Burnout last year, but it got overlooked. In my opinion Burnout Paradise has the most perfect online system ever, and skate 2 was close to being on par with it but since you can't skate the entire city that takes it down a few notches. Other then that though and the Lucas Puig challenge which i still can't beat the game should totally be in the running for GOTY

That challenge was hard, I got lucky doing a nose slide on the first planter to the left then ollied right across the gap and over to the other planter so that i landed in a tailslide. I couldn't believe that I had landed it. Also, the one time before that It counted a noseblunt as a noseslide if that helps any.

Loved the game but haven't touched it for a few weeks since i beat the story and killzone came out. Definitely will be freeskating to my own custom soundtrack and getting back into some online play

the implementation is so half-assed. even if i turn my music volume all the way down, you can barely hear anything that's going on in the game, and it doesn't even stop the in-game music.

they need to make it blend it like in Warhawk.

what about a ranking in spot battle? points from different spots should be summed up. otherwise it doesn't make much sense, there's no competition between players. it was like that in skate. and worked good, why change that?!
