What is he talking about? The Wii does allow a game to be ported to other systems without completely changing the game's unique features. The problem is, most developers try to force these unique features on the Wii version and say it can't be done on PS360. Don't get me wrong, there are games that couldn't be made on other systems, but there are a lot more that could.

I think he's basically making reference to how scaled back the engine would have to be. But then if you're making a PC version with one of the aims being to run on nearly any hardware, then surely it's not that difficult.

Of course, having played a lot of recent PC ports it's clear that they often don't bother to include low settings anyway.

But what better system to 'curve' a bullet then on the Wii with motion controls?

Seriously though...curving a bullet? It's no wonder Americans have among the lowest assessed science literacy levels in the world.

@NoughtSoClever

you really aren't that clever are you? it's a FICTIONAL story. based on a COMIC. they never said it was supposed to be realistic. if it was in call of duty or some other realistic FPS, then i would agree.

I find some of his points really valid.
The wii is a great machine but most Hardcore titles really don't do all that well on it.
Especially if there not first party.
Of course there are games that prove otherwise

Madworld doesn't need to sell 2-3 million to make a profit, that's just ridiculous. I however, think it needs to sell around that to be considered a success given that it's a supposedly AAA game on a system pushing 40 million (if not more by now).

If the results of last week are anything to go by though, it'll be lucky to crack a million.

It's impossible to know without knowing how long it took, money spent licensing fees & advertising, or how many people worked on the project, and many other variables. But i agree with the install base for the wii, their projection numbers were probably a little higher than normal.

Well I talked to both of them over PSN. You can add me if you want to if you have a ps3 (same name as here), but don't bother asking me on there cause my lips are sealed now. I wasn't even supposed to tell Snipes but I figured it couldn't hurt.

That, and I don't want to get kicked out of our killzone clan :P

Frankly it's that attitude that has created some absolutely piss-poor software this generation. So-called "Indie Developers" seem to think you should be able to create a game on four different platforms by developing a PC title and making about three weeks worth of tweaks.

Newsflash - that only works for PC to XB360 ports. The other two platforms have very different architecture. Want to know why most 'multi-sku' games have looked like warmed over turd on the PS3 compared to PS3 exclusives? It's because they're effectively ignoring the PS3's custom architecture.

I do agree with you on the whole attitude taken toward the machines here. It really seems to be an issue of who's frightened more about porting. It's exactly a matter of the consoles' builds being so different from the two computers [PC/XBOX] that understandably frustrates third party developers.

These developers crying about not being able to make million sellers because of the so-called limitations have GOT to start thinking harder and creating features around [not necessarily within] the mindbox of the Sony and Nintendo machines.

Wow...I actually agree with just about everything this dude said. I mean look at Suda 51, they put a lot of heart (and money) into No More Heroes, and it more or less flopped. Goichi even said he was very disappointed that third party developers aren't making the same impact as first party Nintendo games.

It's difficult to take a chance on the Wii with a hardcore title, when there's a good chance it will flop hard.

How much do you think Guichi Suda's games sold before No More Heroes? Not alot is the answer, Killer7 did much worse than No More Heroes across two platforms. No More Heroes is their biggest success to date, they celebrated it's success.

Heart? Yes.
Money? Absolutely not.

Furthermore, NMH did NOT flop, except by the 'It's Not A Million Seller' metric. Flops don't get sequels announced within a year or so of it's original release date.
