Alyssa Milano talks about Ghostbusters role

Former Charmed star Alyssa Milano will be in the new Ghostbusters video game and she's here (in video) to talk about her new role as Ilyssa Selwyn. Her character is the love interest for Dr. Peter Venkman (voiced by Bill Murray), and is likely to play a bigger role than one would expect.

"Paranormal activities take a liking to [Ilyssa]," said Milano. "So crazy things sort of happen ... she can't figure out why, but we'll eventually, at the end, figure out why." It sounds like the leading lady is at the heart of the mystery for this new Ghostbusters outing. And apparently, there's lots of "flirty, flirty sexual tension" happening between Venkman and Selwyn, too. At least, that's what Milano says ... We can't imagine how much sexual tension there could possibly be starring opposite Bill Murray.

As a straight man, I wouldn't really know if Bill Murray is much of a sex symbol. But since you specifically said "sexual tension", the first thought that came to mind was Lost in Translation. I can't think of a movie that I've ever seen that has more sexual tension.

But I guess by saying "You just proved my point, sir. :)" that this means that you were being sarcastic in the article. Maybe this was obvious for others, but sarcasm is really hard to tell over the Internet.

The trouble is that Lost in Translation's sexual tension is wound up in culture shock which is a great accommodating device for passionate romance to develop. Half the reason to go on a study abroad at university, for example, is because its a great way to make really close friendships and relationships. But I don't know how you could plausibly put Bill Murray in a romantic relationship with Alyssa Milano in a story about goofy green ghosts "sliming" people and a bunch of light comedy bafoons riding around in a crazy ambulance car thingy in mario jumpsuits.

Still wish they had weaver but it's her fault for not moving fast enough.

You can't blame her for being cautious about being in a game based on a movie IP. They are normally terrible. With that said, I too was looking forward to her reprising her role and am anticipating this game.

Well i know the 3rd movie is in the works (being written by writers of the office), so we can always hope she will want to be in that.

Her voice acting is beyond terrible and I'm afraid it will take me out of an otherwise awesome gaming experience whenever she shows up.

And she's still stunning at 36 years old!

WTF? What a dis at Weaver. They used the original male characters in the game, why not the original female? Unless Weaver didn’t want to do the game, then I can understand...

Ahh, just found this link. Looks like she thought "video game, what a waste of time". Guess she doesn’t realize that video games are one of the top grossing entertainment segments. She is getting to old.

I'll agree with you because the only defense would be she didn't feel it was artistically worth it, but she has done animated voice work, which is really the same thing with VG voice work so...
