Rumor: Advent Children Complete gets US release in June
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete will be out in Japan later next month, and a North American release could be following closely. According to Blu-ray.com, the completed HD version of the film, with 30 minutes added to the running time, will be out June 7 and will contain dual English/Japanese audio (like the original release). It is said to feature six extra content features, including the new short, animated film called "On the way to a Smile - Episode: Denzel" and an exclusive Final Fantasy XIII sneak peek.
Upon contacting Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, a company representative told us that Sony Pictures could not confirm the details yet and had not "properly announced details." Blu-ray.com's report could be leaked info that's come out a bit too early, but if it proves to be true, we're sure that everyone is wondering exactly what that FFXIII "sneak peek" entails. Is it the demo or just a trailer? The latter seems most likely.

the movie was long enough on its own, now its 30 minutes longer?! This is only a true fan's movie.

"On the Way to a Smile - Episode: Denzel"
OH MAN THATS SUCH AN AWESOME NAME
isn't Square so cool and edgy? I mean, just look at those character designs. I wish my frame was strong enough to not crumble beneath the weight of that many zippers and belts!
Bah, just gimme FFXIII already. Don't wanna hear about any more FFVII milking.
Samuraidino @ Mar 24th 2009 8:48PM
An extra 30 minutes....
It was hard enough to sit through FF7AC as it was,but adding another 30 minutes of pointlessness, that will more than likely feature Cloud and Vincent brooding instead of Cid being badass, isnt grabbing my attention.
Or hey, maybe even add a little plot into those 30 minutes so we know what the hell is going on and who half the people were without needing to check wikipedia.
SnakeOzilla @ Mar 25th 2009 7:30AM
Have you even played FF7?
Reeve @ Mar 24th 2009 8:54PM
Amazon.com is taking preorders for a June 2nd release date: http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-VII-Children-Blu-ray/dp/B001YYQ9SS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1237831971&sr=1-9
I've also seen the June 2nd date posted on two other web sites (both cinephile sites, and both pieces containing identical wording, as if they copied their info direct from a press release). Either way, looks like AC Complete just may be hitting in early June.
mspuria @ Mar 25th 2009 5:25PM
screw final fantasy for not staying loyal to the ps3
Taylor @ Mar 24th 2009 9:03PM

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/22/tgs07-advent-children-gets-dirty-on-blu-ray/
i wonder if it would be worth it to import the japanese version and just recoup the costs by ebaying the ffxiii demo.
Hedgeson @ Mar 24th 2009 9:09PM
I like that movie. Probably from nostalgia and fanboy-ism.
Had it on DVD but lent it to a friend of my brother. Now it's gone.
I was thinking of getting it on Blu-Ray, this looks like a good reason, and the price ain't too high.
Havok @ Mar 24th 2009 9:13PM
Inlcude a copy of FFVII. My old copy is gone, and I don't wanna spend $60 bucks on eBay.
I'm not asking this so that the copies on eBay become devalued to ~$20 or to sell copies on eBay for $60.
arrness @ Mar 24th 2009 9:21PM
THIS.
I already own the DVD
Hedgeson @ Mar 24th 2009 10:10PM
More chances of seeing it on the PSN.
I also lost my discs... or not... hmmm. I had 2 copies of the game, but I think I only lost one disc 1...60$ you say? hmm...
Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Taylor Swift Defense Force, Gobot in disguise) @ Mar 24th 2009 9:14PM
Meh, the only film outta Japan I'm looking forward to is Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0, where Anno yet again gets dragged back into the thing he hates the most, the Evangelion series.
FUNimaton currently lists the release date for the US as November 10, 2009. Still not announced whether they'll dub or sub it.
theMediaman @ Mar 24th 2009 10:02PM
Can I get a 'w00t!'
LokeSTL @ Mar 24th 2009 10:04PM
I don't understand why they don't just subtitle the damn demo and send it over.
gamepete64 @ Mar 24th 2009 10:10PM
I don't like FF but this movie looks badass.

You know if Sony was really smart they would go ahead and pay Square to include the demo of the game on blu-ray. Then they would pack the demo-filled blu-ray in a new PS3 bundle. I am sure you'd see a spike in PS3 sales because it creates a false sense of exclusivity.
Jason @ Mar 24th 2009 11:46PM
Ugh, Advent Children sucked enough. Can we say "FFVII Rehash", boys and girls?
Sorry, the art design was great, the movie sucked a fat one. I wouldn't give two red cents for this turd.
flanker22 @ Mar 25th 2009 12:20AM
its been out for a couple years now btw. this is just the extended version.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Mar 25th 2009 12:49AM
Yes, but not in HD.
j.howlett @ Mar 25th 2009 12:40AM
i want the bluray for the church scene and victory ringtone alone, plus it will go nice with my og ffvii
HighFiveJesus @ Mar 25th 2009 1:54AM
Was the 30 minutes cut out of the original run or created after the release, or what? Because i don't need to pay extra for deleted scenes that weren't good enough the first time around.
MidnightPlatinum @ Mar 25th 2009 2:18AM
It makes smart business sense to include a demo. Even if it is brief as hell, it will guarantee they sell endless copies.
Also, people voted down Jason, but I understand his sentiment. There were some real weak points to the plot in Advent Children. This will however look so good in HD that I don't think I'll even notice the plot. :-) Plus, the thirty extra minutes may help, I really want to see the other characters developed some more!

Oh just give us the FFVII remake already.
Ferdasyn @ Mar 25th 2009 6:44AM
I'm buying it regardless. Sounds good to me.
mazza_man @ Mar 25th 2009 6:44AM
If only it were on DVD rather than Blu-Ray...*sigh*
SnakeOzilla @ Mar 25th 2009 7:53AM
It's already out on DVD?
SnakeOzilla @ Mar 25th 2009 7:32AM
I miss out on the DVD release, I believe I will be picking this up even if it cost 50$ O_o
Sting @ Mar 25th 2009 7:36AM
I'll keep my Japanese preorder. The US one won't include a demo--I'm calling it now. Since it's multiconsole, Square won't want to alienate fans of the Xbox 360, and will opt to just include the "preview" on a DVD or something.
Ferdasyn @ Mar 25th 2009 7:54AM
I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm not actually bothered about the demo. The game will be out soon enough, I can wait for that. I do however want Advent Children given a new release here on Blu-Ray with extended scenes and bonus features, I think the film looks amazing as it is, it will look and sound great on Blu-Ray.
Jon D @ Mar 25th 2009 9:54AM
that better be the demo or i'm importing. i already bought this kickass movie once. gimme a reason to buy it again other than HD.......ahh who am I kidding? I'll buy it anyway.
tony @ Mar 25th 2009 10:31AM
just import it off pay-asia.com. its like 69.90 and you can get in in about 3 weeks from now. that is if you defintely want the FFXIII demo. it will play on us ps3s and i heard rumor that it has english aduio, but not sure.
cursed_angel @ Feb 6th 2010 5:27AM
will it play on european ps3's?????
tony @ Mar 25th 2009 12:53PM
the ps3 is region free. so any game or blu ray should play. it should say on the site if its compatible.
