Bionic Commando (dread) locks on to May 19 release

Nathan Spencer is ready to finish off Capcom's gaming assault of Q1 & Q2. GRIN's long-awaited three-dimensional continuation of the classic NES series now has a date: May 19 on Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC version, also in the works, will be available "shortly after the console release."

Before the game comes out, make sure you check out all the various pre-order bonuses available -- you wouldn't want to miss out on a lunchbox, would you? And then, warm up with some Bionic Commando Rearmed (here's to hoping Bionic Commando will be at least half as good!).

Update: Europe will be receiving the game on May 22nd.

The multiplayer looks to be nuts... players grappling everywhere shooting other players who are grapping everywhere... if you find a target that isn't on the ground, they're doing it wrong.

You're hilarious Pete. Talk to the people at joystiq and ask them why you can hit reply and it doesn't work sometimes. I even hit reply a second time and it still didn't work, hence the double post. BTW your comedic preferences are irrelevant to me. Considering that you’re on a blog trying to correct people’s grammar I’m going to go out on a limb and say that you’re really not the life of the party so I’ll consider our difference of opinion on humor a huge compliment. Maybe you can get the lyrics and look up some of the words so you understand the song better and you’ll know why it’s funny.

Wait a minute...isn't GRIN also the company that just made that crappy "Wanted" game? Consider my interest in this severely diminished.

They developed BC: Rearmed, so there is hope. Wanted seemed like a rush job, and Bionic Commando's release was pushed back for some more polish, so comparing that to BC isn't really fair.

This, and Bioshock 2, being the only two games I'm really looking forward to, this year.

I thought we were supposed to see BC, shortly after RE5 - like late March or April, but another 3 months??

I guess I can wait. But this game better be DAMN good. And from every trailer I've seen, thus far, it looks like I probably won't be disappointed.

Someone must not be reading up on inFamous.

Haven't heard much about inFamous, yet - but I just saw the trailer.

By the looks of what I saw, it looks like a post-apocolyptic Crackdown, only with plenty more destruction.

But of course, I loved Crackdown... I'll be keeping my eyes on that one. Good, new, PS3 franchises are few and far between. The last game I bought for my PS3 was LittleBig Planet, back in December.

i'm surprised they haven't announced any dlc set to come out may 26th - april 2nd. can i expect a mandatory install?

For the longest time I was saying how they had better deliver the BCR trophies patch by this game's release.... but I just got off the stuff... So... Yeah. I'm proud to say that I'm an ex-trophies user.
