I just had a fanboygasm.

I was so expecting them to make an announcement in Q4 of this year, not now, and NOT a statement that it would be RELEASED later this year. Happy Secre ^-^.

I liked Phantom Hourglass (It seems like it was much better the second time around). This'll be fun. I hope it's another sequel to Windwaker, because that's pretty much just what it looks like.

Side note: Did you see his train outfit? I swear, my eyes bulged when I saw it. I was all, "O-O."

O MAN WANT.
Anyone who put up with the annoying repeating dungeon should know that PH was a very good LoZ game. I can only hope this one is as good or better (ie don't make us play the same exact thing over and over).

Don'T really give a crap about this game really, passed over the first, I'll probably pass on this one too, but man Nintendo attracts the whiniest and or craziest trolls. Since everything Nintendo dose seems to spawn more trolls they should start selling troll repellent, they love making money. They'll sell the cure, they made the disease.

So do these games (DS zeldas) play like a snes/GB Zelda, 3D console Zelda or something entirely different? Is there an overworld in this game?

Hmmm trains. That seems...interesting. I guess I'll see how it plays out before I make a judgement on it.

Everyone's BAWWWWWWWWWWing because this isn't Wii Zelda, but for me, it makes it even sweeter.

I'm not going to try to lie in retrospective and say that I liked Phantom Hourglass and didn't find it boring. But I expected a Wii Zelda to be announced, and instead, we get Nintendo's chance to gain some ground where they failed with PH, and we get it by the end of this year!

I'm sure it will be great, I'm highly anticipating it.

As seems to be more and more common with Nintendo's announcement these days, it both surprises and leaves you infinitely curious to see more

The how and why of this game is going to be particularly interesting.

It looks kinda odd, but let's not judge before we see some more shots and gameplay. I enjoyed PH so I don't think I will be dissapointed with this one.

I hope it will actually be released this year.

Right.....well, here's what I think. At first, I was like "BLEH, more cel-shaded Link!" I hate cel-shaded Link. I wish he'd just run into a closet and stay there forever.

But then I saw the screenshots and now I'm sitting here going "okay...so it's cel-shaded Link, but it might be a GOOD traditional Zelda game (I did not like Phantom Hourglass, though I did beat it). Might be good..."

I'm tracking with a grain of salt. I don't think my heart can handle any more than one disappointing Zelda game.

I personally didn't enjoy Phantom Hour glass. I did enjoy windwaker, but honestly I'm tired of seeing link as a child. Seriously. The DS has enough titles, the Wii has too much shovelware. Come on nintendo, get your act together.

Agreed!! Just look what came out this month on the ds! GTA, FFCC, Suikoden, Henry Hatsworth, Valkyrie Profile, Avalon Code, 3D Picross [okay, it's import but still...], uh... Pokémon and Peggle[??] and Puzzle Quest Galactrix!!
That's some impressive line-up that caters to everyone, and all this month alone!!

Z:PH was a damn good game. And every time you revisited the Ocean Kind dungeon you could find more secrets and get to more areas. That dungeon had a bit of Metroid feel to it.

Stoked for this one!

Am I like the only one who is excited for this? I've never played a portable Zelda game I didn't like. Sure Phantom Hourglass had its flaws (replaying the same dungeon) but I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Also, personally, I like Celda. I can see why some people don't since it's associated with transportation gimmicks (first the boat and now this train thing) which were never all that great to begin with, but I don't think the boat was ever THAT awful that it ruined the game. Sure, it would have been nice to have a console Zelda game, but I'll take anything I can get from Nintendo at this point.

Urgh no thanks. I tried to like PH but didn't like the visuals (would have preferred something like Minish Cap), the level design was shit, the pacing was slower than other Zelda games... probably to compensate for the poor controls. zeldas one of my fave series but PH is the worst title in it, IMO. Travesty. But Nintendo also furdged up Star Fox and Metroid so it's only right they mess up another of their IPs.

And chances of them sony bumming stalkers seeing this post? High. But they'll pretend I never posted it...

I agree with samfish, seriously guys, I'm no Nintendo fanboy, but it seems like everyone's just procrastinating on what Nintendo does, even if that complaining is stupid. (ie:isn't it stupid to complain about Twilight Princess, when Nintendo gave you exactly what you wanted, when Wind Waker was released: a real Ocarina of Time follow-up?) Then, when Nintendo gave you exactly what you wanted: an Ocarina of Time sequel, you complain that it was "un-evolved". So, Nintendo made a "evolved" Zelda in the form of Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Trails, which was, again exactly what you wanted, and you're still complaining? What's wrong with you guys? Time time again, Nintendo delivers exactly what you wanted, just to be met with open criticism. Is is that you guys are as symbiotically linked with procrastination of Nintendo's actions as Nintendo fanboys/fangirls are with defending every single thing Nintendo does, even if it's a proposition to nuke the U.S.A.?

This just feels a bit off from the usual Zelda. With the addition of trains, pretty soon we're going to see a gunslinger Link with his guns that shoot bullets (of light?). Unfortunately, he will still have a green suit, which might ruin everything.

I'm excited. PH was fun, so this one should be at least as fun or better. :)
I'm glad Nintendo isn't forgetting about the DS just because it's a handheld (but then again the thing is much more popular in Japan...Americans seem to prefer consoles on the whole to handhelds. Not all Americans, but I get the impression that most do)
