Zelda? Gay? That explains the crossdressing!

That train is so lame. The damn thing has a cannon. If you're going to do the same tired ass thing over again at least leave the boat. At lest having my own knight pawn will make up for the craptastic transportation.

Personally I don't care one way or the other about the whole train aspect as so far we really don't know what's going on with it.

My only hope is that based on the fact that the engine appears to be the same as the phantom hourglass that Nintendo has fixed some things since the original.

I really do not want this to be a sequel

We've something for everybody and on top of all that this annoucement!!

That's why I say: let them haters hate, the ds is the best platform ever, period!

I didn't appreciate the temple of the ocean king, either, but if you were paying attention, at all, you were given shortcuts to drastically reduce the time it took you to clear it. Each new item opened up a shortcut.

It was bad design but it wasn't game breaking.

Wow, this will probably the first Zelda game that I skip. Reminds me too much of that gameplay wreck caused by too many gimmicks forced into one "game" we all call Phantom Hourglass.
But there's still hope for the new Wii Zelda... Then again, wasn't there a statement that the DS Zelda team was going to help the Wii team?

I couldn't agree more. You said almost exactly what I was thinking. Gimmick Zelda games need to get the boot.

Game is in quotes, because to me it rather seemed like a feature/gimmick demo for Nintendo's hardware than a full-fledged game.

I don't understand why everyone had so many problems with the Temple of the Ocean King. I thought it was a really fresh concept- that you have to keep traveling to the temple at different points in the game, and each time you went there- a new path and/or shortcuts were revealed. It's level design was top notch.

As far as difficulty goes, yes Phantom Hourglass was easy- but I do not need a challenge to be enjoying myself. I thought the game was a blast- and one of the best DS games around.

I am super excited for any new Zelda game, even if it has trains (which has me skeptical)! As skeptical as I am of the train, I know the Zelda team makes AAA titles- and has never disappointed me. Color me excitedd!!!

VIVA LA ZELDA TEAM!

I'm not going to judge this train thing before the game comes out or I hear a little more about that.

The last time I judged a game too harshly before it came out, I was completely proven wrong and it is now on my list of all time favorite games!

Yup, Wind Waker taught me that you can't judge a game by its cover.

I'm not a fan of stealth, so I hated the temple of the Ocean King. Going back after every other dungeon you beat is the probably the reason why there weren't many others. Hopefully they will fix all of that this time around.

Yeah,

I'm not going to lie or hide my opinion here; I love how this looks. The feel of the soundtrack is perfect. It's Link goes West. In watching the video, I felt, "Ah-HA! This is the logical next place for this Link. Why hadn't I thought of that?" There will always, of course, be a special place in my heart for the Zelda games which touched me the most, but I'm always open to seeing something new and exciting and I think that this fits the bill.

I can't wait,

manaman

PS: I've been playing this series from the beginning and I LOVE "Phantom Hourglass."

I generally enjoyed PH (excluding the Temple of the Ocean King), especially the sailing, but trains? I'll have to see how the story explains this before I pass serious judgment.

Speaking of story, the whole train bit will probably throw those people who follow the timeline of the series for a loop.

I'm so tired of Zelda games based on gimmicks like this. Besides, Zelda games as of late have been so BORING! Why can't they be fun like Ocarina of Time was? Or maybe as interesting as A Link to the Past was? Or as excellent as Wind Waker was?

Really, Zelda games are in a rut. I can't believe people complain about Sonic games when Zelda and Mario games haven't been very good lately.

... or as imaginative as Link's Awakening.
Though I have to say, I enjoyed New Super Mario Bros. The only thing that felt weird, was that they mapped the item on the touchscreen instead of Select or L/R triggers which would have made more sense imho.
But yeah, I agree on the rest.

After looking at this, I'm not interested. I can't stand this vein of Zelda and I'm sure that's where the console series is headed as well.

Nintendo has already made a massive gamble to sway from the realism of OoT to the cartoon style of TWW, and lucky for them it worked, this series WILL NOT survive another revamp. Although they are playing it safe by fiddling with the hand held title's, for all we know this could be a test to see what us as fans really want from a Zelda title.

I'm skeptical as to weather the trains will fit into the world. wil the whole era change to a pre industrial hyrule? will the castle guards carry rifles instead of swords? if they do will link ditch the master sword for a "master rifle"? because how would he pull off avoiding bullets without doing some stupid final fantasy blocking bullets with swords crap?

I seriously doubt the story could handle the depth to introduce such major changes without just thrusting us into a medieval world with trains with no explanation.

Zelda fans have typically opted for rich explained lore, not link rides his choo choo train to save the princess.

This might open up the door to a new audience, but it will destroy it for the majority of fans.

I sold Hourglass just recently. I'm in no hurry to play more of that style Zelda. Aside from the boss battles, that game was a total snooze. Here's hoping some of the puzzles require a brain this time around...

Guys don't forget the new Wii Zelda that was confirmed long before this one! The only reason they didn't show it was because it's a console title, so it will obviously take a bit longer to make. After that one I'm sure everyone will be please =)

I don't even consider these Wind Waker variants as true Zelda Games. They simply don't have the sense of wonder and fun that the other Zelda games do. And yes, like everyone else, I HATE the graphics.
