I was extremely confused by this as well. By "arcade," do they mean "arcade?" Like actual arcade games? That were at one time playable in an actual arcade? And they're going to be on the virtual console? Like the one on the wii? That let's you download games?

The posts on the subject thus far have been so extremely vague and confusing.

So...maybe some arcade beat-em ups? Would LOVE that, especially those 4 or six player ones. Maybe some X-men, or simpsons? Always wanted to play those more...but when you're 6-8 years old at the time of their prime existance, you don't have many quarters...:-(

Gaplus and Star Force seem interesting. Gaplus reminds me of Galaga only to the next level, and who doesn't love authentic arcade shumups?

They might be old, but hey, I'm glad they're at least available. \o/

I'd be all over the Namco ones, but I never liked Tower of Druaga on the Namco Museum and the other two are emulated nicely on the Namco Museum Remix disc along with a dozen other arcade games from them (so hopefully they'll prioritise what's missing from that).

I did buy Star Force after reading the news on the Shop and never saw this back in the day; it's hard as nails, but a solid vertical shooter.

I actually thought these were just console ports initially, so this is like my dream come true of what the Virtual Console should be. The Xbox Live Arcade was the only thing about the Xbox I was at all envious of, so if Midway will kindly get off its backside and put its vast IP on this service I'll be in heaven.

Erm, Wii homebrew has had some arcade emulators for awhile. So maybe check those out before you all run to your Wiis and blow your cash.

BTW, exactly what is pricing of these (I have yet to turn on my Wii Shop Channel to see for myself)?

You mean I can FINALLY download a top-down shooter on my Wii? Now if only I could buy some minigame collections.

That sounded a lot less mean in my head.

So they're adding arcade games to the V-Con, are they?
