As you may have guessed from our headline (and the poorly 'chopped image above), Guitar Hero: World Tour is finally coming to the PC. GameSpot has revealed that developer Aspyr, the team behind the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock PC port, will bring the best selling band-based game to PC this June.
Guitar Hero: World Tour on the PC will ship bundled with one guitar controller. Aspiring virtual drummers will have to shell out for the PS3 drum kit while singers are free to use any USB based microphone. Guitar Hero's PC tour will include all of the tracks released with the original game, as well as the music creator, but the created music sharing service on the Xbox 360 and PS3 will be stripped. Whether PC players will be able to download new DLC tracks is still unclear (although the previous Guitar Hero on PC omitted that feature).
Aspyr confirmed that World Tour will share similar minimum system requirements to Legends of Rock, which some reviewers blasted for lag problems. If the problems are addressed, we can't wait to get the band back together. But only if we can play our dream show in front of a real audience ... during an 11-hour flight from Tokyo to L.A. We're Laptop Heroes!

Can you pin down the Harmonix folks and ask them when we're getting Rock Band for Japan?

Didn't GH3 have terrible framerate problems rendering it unplayable on the PC? It's either that or it was rendered un-scorewhorable due to glitchy SP.

GH3 was crap on the PC... Sluggish, unresponsive and framerate-retarded.

So I assume the Rock Band 2 PS3 instruments will work if the PS3 drum kit does (doesnt specify if it has to be GH drums), right?

oh thats just sad
all 5 people who think its sweet to rock out in front of their computer with a drum set and guitar should be happy i guess.
The rest can keep it to the living room with the good version.

And playing a game in front of a PC monitor is less cool than playing it in front of a TV how??
(Also, some people have PCs in their living rooms! Gasp! Some people even have PCs hooked up to their televisions!!! Crazy, I know. Just try to grasp it a little bit at a time, you'll get your shit together.)

avid PC gamer here, you aren't telling me anything new, and its still a bad idea.
4 people trying to play around a computer screen (if you can play with 4 people) is significantly LESS cool than just keeping it simple by getting it for your wii. Can't imagine why you would prefer to go this route.

A bunch of my friends and I enjoyed playing GH3 in front of a PC. Sure, I moved it out from my bedroom and into the basement, but I hooked up a decent set of speakers and a 22" monitor, and it worked out just fine. Plus, now, my computer is hooked up to my 52" TV in my living room, so it'd be even better.
Plus, as a music game, I'd far rather play it on my X-Fi Titanium Pro and in 1080p with full AA, etc., than a Wii. (Granted, that's assuming there's no nasty bugs, driver issues, etc. - if everything "Just Works" I'd say the PC version would be the best. But, as my experience with PC games would say, that's a big maybe!)

The 1.3 patch for GH3 PC fixed the lag issue for me. I can play it at normal speed, and I don't have any "phantom misses" at all. GH:Aerosmith on the PC was fine from moment one.
I am curious as to why we have to buy the PS3 drum kit for the PC though. I mean, is that correct the way it is written? You would think the 360 kit would be the more compatible one since 360 USB and PC USB are pretty much the same. Clarification on that would be nice.
GFWL - At least they are not making a $170 PC bundle. I think that would seriously bomb on the PC.

Scratch that question. I see WIRELESS now. So unless you have the 360 wireless receiver, you probably do not have a way to have non-wired controllers work. DUH!
GFWL - Stormrise drains the brain it seems.

Whelp, no DLC, outrageous system requirements, and being released six-ish months later. Everyone can look forward to the publisher complaining about piracy being the problem for lack of sales, or complaining the PC is an inferior platform. Go team!

in pc you can ALWAYS use the controller, or whatever you want to play whatever game you want... we can find a way :)
so i think we would probably use any drumset / guitar in this game :)
