It's not like E3, I think it's more like GDC asked Iwata to give the keynote, each company doesn't have there own conference thing like E3. Just Iwata, hopefully dropping the bomb.

@ tsagoodness, while I agree with you, after seeing this, it beat the hell out of the E3 2008 embarrassment that was polluted by wii music.

Speak for yourself.

GDC isn't primarily a "media event"... it's for developers. Kind of in the name, there. While I would not be surprised to hear vague remarks about a few things Nintendo is doing, I don't expect any announcements, I don't expect any "megatons", and I think the Shop maintenance is nothing more than some prep work for the US DSi launch.

What I expect Iwata to talk about is one part "look at my suit; the fabric is made of money, and the thread was spun from the tears of the 'hardcore'!", two parts "we're doing good because we're doing this this and this, and maybe you guys might want to try some of this", and one-tenth of a part "oh, by the way, new stuff".

Note that I'm still a rabid, unabashed, unshamed and uncowed Nintendo fanboy. I just learn from other peoples' mistakes a little bit better. I'm excited, yes, but I'm also tempering my expectations.

That way, when there IS a megaton, I haven't used up all my frothing glee.

Like hell it was - Phantom Hourglass was awesome, and was closer to having a true Zelda feel than Twilight Princess did. Bring on the sequel!

And then promptly shooting them down in favor of yet another Mario and Zelda game, another SSBM, and another Mario Kart.

I'd be okay with a new Zelda game, but only if it was a cel-shaded WW sequel with legitimate motion controls. Otherwise, I'll probably just sit the next one out.

HOPEFULLY they are Adding an option to store your Credit card info on the Wii so you dont have to put in ALL the address info, etc in EVERYTIME you want to buy a freaking game.Thats annoying as hell. Also would be nice to be able to add funds to your Wii online. hell why they at it go ahead and a UNIVERSAL WALLET that will work on the DSi store as Well as the Wii store. Would be nice

Does that extend to debit cards? Don't think it does. If it did I'd be more likely to get more games than now where I need to buy VC cards.

you mean like a Visa Check card or just a basic Debit card that not affiliated with either Visa or mastercard??

Cause thats what I use. I just say credit card because it has a Visa symbol on it.

Man only 3 games? I bought the Wii specifically for VC games, I've had to put in my damn address every time for all 18 of the games I purchased. It seems like they're trying to discourage people from using credit cards too, ya know that whole thing with erasing every field if you accidently screw up on say your CVV2 number or exp date, defaulting to No when asking you to confirm your purchase after entering your address etc. I've never used a point card so I'm wondering does it make you go through all that crap too?

yea just 3....if they add the option to save card info I will definitely get more. Hell I've spent over $200 on the PS Store. But that could also be because I have Storage space for those games too. With the Wii points card all you have to do is put the number in I think

Wow they finally implemented that SD card storage option, unfortunately 32 GB sd card isn't much compared to a 320gb hdd. Still its a start and VC games are tiny so in a sense 32 gb is kinda like having 320?

Bob was acting like an ass because he was playing the role of a character in his game (the villain) who just happens to be a delusional lunatic game developer named "bob"

Current game description:
"bobsgame.com" is an alternate reality game which creates a real-life parallel to the events inside
the DS game called "bob's game," an adventure game written in C by a guy named "bob" over 5 years.
"bob's game" is a work of fictional satire about gaming and the game industry, where the main
character "Yuu" plays games inside the game to find "the greatest game ever made" - the legendary "bob's game."

The "bob's game" inside of "bob's game" is created by the in-game character "bob," an insane, egomaniacal genius developer
who delusionally believes he has uncovered a vast conspiracy in the game industry to hold back great games.
Believing himself on a quest to save the game industry, "bob" holds an interdimensional "bob's game" tournament-
in order to gather every brainwashed gamer worldwide together at once and break the evil spell of shovelware.
If "Yuu" wants the industry to survive- "Yuu" must beat "bob" at his own game... and "Yuu" might just uncover the REAL TRUTH.
