Kudos to the staff for staying awake this long, cause this is a complete snoozefest so far. There's not even anything entertaining in a bad way, like E3. Just completely flat on all fronts.

Please refer to my comment for that other guy. It reads: GTFO!

You hate Nintendo, so why do you even bother reading? Douche.

Oh I forgot that some people even like endless sales bragging and Miyamoto ass kissing, cause that's about all that's happened so far.

Oh so now we're going to bring things up that weren't unveiled when I wrote that. nice.

Either way, a port of a 20 year old game and a new wiiware game? Hardly reason to go dancing in the streets if you ask me.

"Iwata shows the console install bases compared, and adds the Wii Balance Board to the list – wow, it's right behind the PS3"

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Considering that all I own are a PC, Wii, and PS3, and I never owned the originals, this IS exciting news.

Yes, you can get III, IV, and VI on the GBA/DS, but they aren't the original versions. Sure you can get ANYTHING on the PC... illegally. I want to play them as they were when they came out... not rehashed, with incredibly long load times (FFV for PS1), or crappy 3D textures (DS), etc. Up until now, there has been no way to do that without paying exhorbitant Ebay prices and pulling out my dusty SNES that I never want to touch again.

Thank you Nintendo... (it's about time)

The updated versions may not be exactly the same as the originals, but aside from some lower sound quality due to the limitations of the GBA hardware, the updates are better in every way. I'm sorry, but removing obvious grammatical errors from a game's dialogue is an improvement, period. Optional dungeons don't add that much, but they're optional.

For example, I have played through every version of Chrono Trigger and I can say without a doubt that the DS version is the ULTIMATE version, even better than the original SNES version. The new script makes the SNES one look like a joke.

Example: "Anyone who dares to oppose...it...meets certain doom"

becomes

"Unimaginable is the power of Lavos! Before him, all are as leaves cast to the bitter winds that howl about Death's black wings"

I mean, damn.....

Ha! That IS fairly awesome... I have Chrono Trigger DS and haven't played it much yet, but when I do get around to beating it I'll make sure to pay attention to things like that.

And yes, I do know that they have been "improved" in the other versions, and I've played a lot of them, but I still want to experience them as they originally were, and now I will be able to. *shrug* Makes ME happy at least!

I'm guessing not. It probably checks for the small file that installs on your machine in addition to the ROM before playing it. At least, that's what I'd do if I were Nintendo.

Not too bad. Arcade games are good. In fact, that's what got me in to video games in the first place! (Pay $200 up front and never have to deposit quarters again! Oh, wait...)

I made it extra fun by imagining what this would be like if it was Apple's keynote. "And now our team of brilliant engineers in Tokyo bring you a new innovation in storage capacity: -SDHC-! To discuss this incredible technology, I would like to call Jimmy on stage to show you some 3D renders of microchips that we invented."

Zelda: Train Simulator?

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They usually don't go too wrong in a Zelda game.

That...was amazing. Besides all the game announcements, I really liked hearing about Miyamoto's development methods. I was always a fan of agile development, so I'm glad to hear he uses it, too. :D

And the death spiral thing is so true.

Oh, Nintendo.

So near and yet... so far.

Tell us how well you're doing then a couple of new games and a new category on Virtual Console. Where are the new games to get excited about? You talk about your amazing ways to develop games then show nothing.

And the only VC news i was hoping for, GB and GBA on DSi, we didn't get.

Sigh.

Roll on E3

That was better than I expected. Many here seemed to forget that this is GDC, so there wasn't supposed to be any megaton announcements. I liked hearing the design side stuff, though none of it was really new to me. Extra storage is great news (you can nuke Cammy's fridge metaphor now).

Conspicuously absent, yet again: Wii Sports Resort. They also didn't comment on the rumored Motion Plus bundle with Grand Slam Tennis in Europe

Nintendo: We need moar!

"There's some rather cheesy slow techno-pop music blaring from the speakers, not really our cup of tea." "Our iPhones report that the song playing is "Let Go" by Frou Frou. Not sure how to pronounce that."

Personally, I'm a fan. Also, it appeared on the soundtrack for the movie Garden State, which I am generally a fan of.
