Beyond Good & Evil, PoP: Sands of Time added to GOG's lineup
The fine purveyors of DRM-free classics at GoG.com have announced an agreement with Ubisoft, which sees good old(ish) games like Beyond Good & Evil and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time added to the downloadable lineup. Joining action journalist Jade and the time-swindling prince are ... the aeroplanes of IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946! We guess they weren't really going for much of a theme outside of all three costing $9.99 each.
Other Ubisoft titles slated to hit the PC service "in the coming weeks" include Heroes of Might and Magic, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Not Tom Clancy's Far Cry.

those are some great releases!
Dustin @ Mar 27th 2009 8:57PM
agreed, Beyond Good & Evil was one of the most underrated games of that era.
Huey2k2 @ Mar 26th 2009 9:39PM
Heroes of Might and Magic?
OMG!!!!111one
SoulBlade @ Mar 26th 2009 9:44PM
DRM-free? these guys deserve our support for sure.
Discotheque @ Mar 26th 2009 9:51PM
Absolutely. I'm gonna pick up BG&E from them.
DBuck_Eye @ Mar 26th 2009 9:51PM
Not Tom Clancy's Far Cry? I don't know... the "Not" in front of "Tom Clancy" makes me doubt that the game was made by Tom Clancy. And there's no point in playing a shooter that doesn't result in me throwing my controller at the wall five minutes after booting the game up.
wicko @ Mar 26th 2009 10:25PM
Eh, 10$.. I'll wait for a Steam sale, you know its coming.
Powerlord @ Mar 26th 2009 11:16PM
You already missed the Steam sale on BG&E... it was $4.99 during the post-holiday sale.
wicko @ Mar 27th 2009 12:56AM
Yeah, I remember, but I'm sure it will happen again, I'm in no real hurry. Not sure if the game will interest me or not, so its worth waiting on.

Buying POP:SOT now, loved Warrior Within for the gameplay (story and characters- meh) and hopefully the original will be as good as it's said to be.
God I hate the new Prince of Persia.
ZaxCG2 @ Mar 26th 2009 10:49PM
I loved Sands compared to Warrior Within because of the story being a lot more simple and heartening, and the characters/soundtrack/environments not being so morbid and dark. If you can deal with the slightly less refined controls, you've got a great game there.
Discotheque @ Mar 26th 2009 11:17PM
There is no new Prince of Persia.
It's worse than the Star Wars prequels and Indy IV.

BG&E for Me!
ZaxCG2 @ Mar 26th 2009 10:46PM
I'm a very big supporter of underrated games.
Is BG&E a buy for me?
Ihavepants @ Mar 26th 2009 10:54PM
It should be a buy for everyone. I can't really say that BG+E was underrated, everyone seems to love it so much. The fact that no one bought it was the issue, so I think you know what to do ;)
I've already got it on Steam.
ZaxCG2 @ Mar 26th 2009 11:10PM
Glad we could trade gaming advice. I'll definitely be buying this soon. Actually right now. Now sounds good....
Powerlord @ Mar 26th 2009 11:17PM
If you have Windows Vista, you may need to toggle one of the video settings to get it to display correctly... I don't remember which one, but Google probably knows...
Ihavepants @ Mar 26th 2009 11:34PM
No, you won't. GOG makes all its games directly XP and VISTA compatible, as well as DRM free.
ZaxCG2 @ Mar 26th 2009 11:40PM
Yup. I don't have that crap OS anyways. XP is fine with me.
I WILL however ensure that this game will play 1440x900.
t_m @ Mar 27th 2009 4:14AM
Its basically a zelda game. In a good way.
Devilmachine @ Mar 26th 2009 10:48PM
let me know when HoMM becomes available and I'm so there!
