Wishful thinking.. The last MGS4 could not be achieved on Xbox, it's unlikely they will put the series into reverse gear to MGS5 does..

He has already said that even MGS4 on PS3 did not achieve his goals, do you really think that putting it on a crippled console like the 360 would???

Some people need to get a grip on reality it seems.

More surprised than when you found out Goku's power was over 9000 (8000 in the original Japanese version)!?!?!?!?!?

LOL exactly! Like when the images of MGS Touch! emerged, I was sure that it was the next game and it was going to be released simultaneously. But, of course, it was announced for the iPhone. So who really knows, Konami may surprise us.

I doubt it, only the PS3 can provide Kojima with enough space for 50 gigs of uncompressed audio.

@c412281

Some background: the only people to have ever claimed that the PS3 is more powerful than 360 are Sony and Konami. The general consensus amongst every other developer is that ultimately they're very equivalent with the exception that the PS3 is much more difficult to program for, and that's most likely due to a lack of a mature development studio which provides tools and libraries for multi-cored environments (XNA) instead of having to start from scratch.

So ask yourself this question: what's more likely? That Sony and Konami are genius programmers and every other programmer on the planet is an idiot? Or Sony paid Konami large sums of money to keep MGS exclusive as so many companies do and flaunt the PS3's "advantages"?

Also: before you accuse me of Microsoft fanboyism, I'm an Apple and Nintendo fanboy, and I hate Microsoft. I only have a 360 for Harmonix, Valve, and Rockstar games, but I love Wii more. I switched from a Windows Mobile phone to iPhone. I've used Microsoft's development tools (not XNA, but Visual Studio upon which XNA is based), and they're absolute crap compared to Apple's offerings.

Sony paying money to developers?LMAO... isn't that M$'s regular practice and the reason why most games are multiplatform have exclusive dlc on xbl?

I quote myself: "Or Sony paid Konami large sums of money to keep MGS exclusive *as so many companies do*" (emphasis added).

I again quote myself: "I hate Microsoft".

Please read my entire comment before voting it down and replying. Obviously it was never my intent to support Microsoft in any way, I in fact implicitly acknowledged that Microsoft is known for the practice too, just that Sony's advertised "advantages" are just complete bull.

Mike,

Are you comparing XCode to Visual Studio? I've used both as well, and I gotta say I prefer VS. The free version of XCode vs. the free version of VS (express) is what I'm talkin about. I'm not discussing anything you have to pay for - I've used VS Pro but nothing on Apple.

Though Eclipse beats everything hands down for anything Java.

@ Mike, or it could simply be that Sony has a good relationship with Konami, as does Nintendo, the same way Insomniac can decide to stick with Sony willingly is the same way Konami can.

Besides, you mention 'Konami' but forget that 'Kojima Productions' is the smaller team that built the game for PS3, if Kojima happens to prefer the PS3, its up to him, the same way Itakagi's team made games exclusive to 360, and only not that he has left are games going the other way.

Konami can pressurise Kojima to go multiplat if they felt the need to, but they haven't, then again, they get access to Sony's assistance etc by going exclusive, even without Sony having to pay them a penny. So your claim could be right or wrong, but don't disregard the alternatives.

Multiplatform? Ummm, if MSG4 was too much for the Xbox, I'm thinking MSG5 will definitely be too much for the XBox to handle..

By the way, I hope Raiden doesn't appear in the game.
He should have died WAY to many times. And I've always felt he was light in the loafers.

Whilst it looks generally ninja-ry, to me it resembles Grey Fox more than anyone. Although given the lack of detail and clarity in that pic it could resemble almost any cyborg ninja.

I'm gonna pretend all the console games that will never come to PC are overrated to make myself feel better like LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, etc. : /

guys, I'm sorry. But he's right.

Metal Gear was a beautiful looking game. But the story was overly sentimental and melodramatic. The writing went in circles and never had anything interesting to say. I think when you compare that with something like GTA IV it becomes clear that metal gear, while fun to play, is not a good game.

@ limporta2003

Metal Gear Solid is a fantastic game. None of the things you said are wrong, as the writing wasn't the best. But believe me when I say that MGS is a top-notch gaming effort in every area BUT the story, making it a very good game.

they also had a PS1 and a poster for Policenauts in the original MGS, which explains why it was never brought to any other system.

Well whazam1337, I do remember that in Twin Snakes which is a remake of Metal Gear Solid on the Gamecube when you fight the Cyborg Ninja, there was a Gamecube and controller in that room whereas in the original there was a PS1 and controller.

So in the 360 version, they can include a Zune and a Windows Mobile powered phone instead. XD

Or they could just continue with what they feel like doing. Instead, why not purchase a PS3, if you don't want to, you can either hope it appears on 360 and if it doesn't tough.

In order for MGS4 to run on the PS3, it required all game assets for a chapter to be installed on the hardware while streaming the audio. This, in essence, is the trick to how Kojima fully exploited the PS3 to run MGS4 the way it does. In other words, for it to work on 360, the entire infastructure to how the game even loads and handles information will have to be redesigned from the ground up.

If Kojima spends the next two years "redeveloping" MGS4 for 360, how in the fuck is that money he can make in the meantime? Taking a game multiplat, especially one catered specifically around a system and it's strengths, is not as easy as selecting Save As>Xbox 360 Game in the compiler. Sooner the people clamoring for ports of every damn thing realize this, the better.
