Japanese company recruiting for 'PS3 flight action game'

Ace Combat has always been a PlayStation series. Well, except for that last game, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, an Xbox 360 exclusive. Many have wondered why the PS3 hasn't seen its own Ace Combat game yet -- could Namco Bandai be working on one now?

A Japanese job listing is searching for a PS3 artist experienced in MAYA. This person will be responsible for creating the textures and models of jet fighters. The hiring company is not named, but the address listed is in the same area as many of Namco Bandai's Shinagawa offices.

We're hopeful that Namco Bandai will bring the Ace Combat series back to PlayStation fans. If not, then PS3 owners can -- at the very least -- take comfort in knowing that some Japanese company is making a "flight action game" for our system.

I'd love for them to do an Ace Combat for PS3 owners. I've always enjoyed them, especially while using the bundled flight controller in the 360 version (not sure if u can find those bundles anymore :P )

how is ace combat a sony franchise?? It's been on a lot of consoles. Gba, PSP, Ps2, and 360

Because there have been 7 games on Sony platforms.

I don't think this is Ace Combat, I think this is something new. I await more info with keen info. Even if it takes a year, and turns out to be Air Force Delta Strike 2.

I actually whenever im older am thinking of becoming a game developer of some sort, i would like to make a flight sim for the console, like microsoft flight sim for the pc, having all the airports in the world, and being able to fly to your local airport, to anywhere in the world, in such aircraft as the boeing , Douglas and airbus series aircrafts. I have many game development documents written... so look forward to that! :P, ill prolly never find a publisher (because its quite a niece market), donno maybe psn?. we'l see, look out for me in the future i got many many ideas for games...
btw im only 15 so.... might be a few years yet..

I used to love Ace Combat, but Warhawk has ruined me for any other game that involves flying something really fast that shoots missiles.

What exactly did Warhawk do to 'ruin' that type of game?

Sorry, should've explained better...

Warhawk is so fun and exciting, when i decided to play Ace Combat on my PS2 again, i noticed how slow and dull the control and gameplay really is. I thought Ace Combat was the best flight combat game i would ever play, but Warhawk tops it in every aspect. Maybe it's unfair to compare them, but that's the way i see it.

Warhawk's, em, warhawk control is addictive and free.

I played warhawk on my PS3 when there was nothing better to play on the system...the long and short of it is that the controls for the warhawk vehicle blow and it makes the game not that fun

I thought Warhack sucked, the whole game physics (flying/driving/etc) seemed so... off? just fake.

but ill admit, the online play of it is a blast, wow ive had some fun playing that online :D

Ah, I played AC6 when I had my 360 (had 3, all died). I really liked it, but I'm finding myself like HAWX more. They can keep Ace Combat series.
