I know I shouldn't be referencing the enemy here, but you guys should really use what Kotaku uses for this live stuff so we dont' have to mash F5 all the time. It's really an ingenious little tool.

You mean LiveItUp? Destructoid uses that, too. But I imagine they like the high hit-count during their liveblogs.

In the meantime just get a refresh plug-in for your browser.

ReloadEvery for Firefox works for me.

Awww ^*&^

I have a massive exam that signifies the end of the 2nd year of my medical degree that is supposedly on the 6th of June. ARSE!

I guess it's not a bad way to make an excuse for those recommended breaks once every hour.

And after Nintendo's showing at GDC, I've more hope than I did after last year's E3.

It's time forrrrr "Bananaboat E3 prediction fun time!"

Prediction 1: Team Ico trailer for their new game, at the Sony Conference.
Prediction 2: New Mario and Zelda announcements, if not trailers, at the Nintendo conference
Prediction 3: Microsoft will announce sequels to a couple of their big franchises, while saving some for other shows. My guess is new Bungie game (if not Halo 4, then who knows), Gears of War 3, etc.

For the sake of E3 as we know it, this year better be good.

My turn! I love seeing how horribly wrong I am after it all goes down.

Sony: Trico will be there. GOW3 gets release date and PSPslide is shown.

Nintendo: Kid Icarus, DKC4 WiiWare, Star Fox, Mario Party 9, Pikmin 3.
No new major IP since Kid Icarus will fill that role, for all intents and purposes. No Zelda Wii, since that'll detract from Spirit Tracks. No Mario Galaxy 2, since Nintendo never specifically said they were making Mario Galaxy 2 (go back and read the original quote.)

MS: Alan Wake gets dated for November, gets delayed and lols are had by all. Duke Nukem 360 exclusive. No Gears. That's next GDC. Itagaki works for MS now. Killer Instinct 3.

ALSO!
• Capcom: Okami II! Yay! Capcom DOES love us! Tatsunoko vs Capcom coming to US (MvC2 on PSN/XBLA should be announced by then). Mega Man 10.
• Sega: Shinji Mikami's next game unveiled. Another Sonic game.
• Square: Kingdon Hearts ThWii.

I think they'll bust out the Wii Zelda in an attempt to quell the "There are no good games for Wii, Rabble Rabble Rabble!" constituency. I don't think a Wii Zelda would hurt a DS Zelda's sales at all. Then again, this is the Japanese we are talking about, and they very well might have thought that spirit tracks was going to shut us up about the lack of "core" titles. I think we will see a new core Mario game, even if it is just a frame or two. It will probably be nothing like Mario Galaxy. I agree with you about Kid Icarus too, there has been too much smoke behind that topic for there not to be fire somewhere.

You are probably right about Gears 3. I think Epic will be coming with something though. If it isn't a tease of Gears 3 (not a trailer or anything, it's too early for that) then maybe a new IP? I think an announcement about the next Bungie game is a sure thing. Alan Wake is vaporware as far as I'm concerned if a release date isn't nailed down by E3. Other than that, I agree with you about MS.

I have big doubts about Tatsunoko Vs Capcom ever coming to the US. There are far too many rights holders involved with that game. Okami II seems doubtful, but then again, you never know. Would you really want to see an Okami II without any of the staff of the first game on board? (or am I forgetting facts. Clover made Okami and then got fired, right?)

Oh, and in my haste, I forgot to mention that Sony will probably give a lot more detail about that MMO they were making (the battlefield-esque one with a hundred simultaneous players or something, I forget the name)

Oh, and there will be a new Tomb Raider! Dunt Dunt Dunnnnnnnnnnn you heard it here first folks.

The fun of Nintendo is that they've never felt a need to "answer" to anyone. The fact that they acknowledged that their performance last year was "a mistake" is quite shocking, and should indicate some sort of change in behavior

The fact that good ol' E3 is back just helps it more so.

Meh. Kamiya didn't make DMC3 and that's considered by most people to be the best game in the series. I have faith in Capcom to do it justice, with or without Kamiya and Inaba on board.

Fingers crossed for a Nintendo conference geared at the actual audience who watches E3 conferences, i.e. GAMERS and not grandparents :)

Also hoping Microsoft announces that Rare will be bringing out Killer Instinct 3 and Sony announces a new Twisted Metal for PS3.

Not likely. The most significant thing to come out of the last several E3 keynotes is how out-of-touch these companies are... Microsoft: ignoring a Halo-related announcement to spend time talking about a movie game, Sony: bragging about year of the PS3, Nintendo: Wii Music. It's too depressing to follow live.

Should be better this year, i think. As E3's relevance returns, they'll all (yes, including Nintendo) take it more seriously.
