That last statement baffles me. Nothing about World of Warcraft screams "This would be awesome with anything other than a keyboard and mouse". Maybe the Blizzard of old would put it to good use, but I can't see them caring enough to stop counting their money and developing add ons to WoW (not that I blame them).

This is ridiculous. They haven't even released anything new this console generation, unless you count expansion packs.

It's like asking David Letterman why he's ignored this generation of consoles.

Yeah I know! I mean who would want to use a mouse and keyboard if WoW came out for 360 and ps3? we should use wii-motes! because we all know how WoW players love to use wii motes with WoW ....sigh

Meh... why make dumb excuses like that? At the very least the PS3 would allow for KB/M input. And considering it is Blizzard MS might even make an exception for the 360. It's not like there's anything wrong with them choosing to stick with PCs exclusively, so just say so. Why bother with excuses that amount to lies?

StarCraft 64 was horrid.

They should have put it on the Dreamcast if you asked me. (Game came out in 2000.)

If they did that, they could have easily just ported the code over, without having to cut any features, quality, music, online play, KB/M support, etc.

From his comments, It sounds like he is describing what the new game "console" OnLive can do. I bet Blizzard has their ey on the new OnLive console.

I'm glad Blizzard refuses to release dumbed down games on the consoles.
... god how I loathed bioshocks lack of an inventory and a real skill system. And open levels.

No wait, don't downvote yet.

don't get me wrong now, I don't hate consoles or think they are generally dumb, but there are different games that fit onto different systems. Blizzard games and games mimicking System shock/Deus ex and classical rts games NEED mouse and computer input plus an amout of RAM and CPU power the Consoles just don't offer.

On the other hand, there are many games predestined to run on the consoles. PoP, mgs, jump'n runs.... never play those without controller.

But as for Blizzard, they do fine sticking to the PC.

Right. MMOs can't possibly work. That's why FFXI is out on the PS2 and 360 and works fine...

You're joking, right? First and foremost, FFXI was designed from the get-go with a Playstation 2 interface in mind. I'm a long-time WoW player who recently booted up the trial of FFXI on my PC and the User Interfaces between the two couldn't be any more different in terms of functionality, intuitiveness, and clarity. WoW relies on its depth, user-built customization and even at times a wee bit of twitch that no console game beyond two dimensions is going to come close to.

Oh, and give me a ring when the speex-enslaved XBOXLive voip sounds anywhere near as clear as Ventrilo. I'll see you in 2015.

Tell you what, do a WoW + Mouse & Keyboard (USB or Bluetooth) bundle for PS3 users.

Be the first, make a Mouse & Keyboard a common peripheral for the PS3 then future games will be more inclined to include support (Red Alert 3, I'm looking at you).

Or everyone could sit there asking "but how many people actually plug a mouse into their PS3" - do it!

4 reasons why MMO's from Blizzard are not on consoles yet.

1. Control of content and patch flow. Content and patches require Sony and MS approval which Blizzard cannot wait on.

2. Mods installation. WoW has been designed with mod integration in mind.

3. Lifespan of consoles. Console cycles usually do not last as long as good MMO's run.

4. Subcriptions. Console gamers usually do not like to pay for subscriptions. Xboxlive + 14.99 Wow account would receive outcries.

MMO's will be prevelant on consoles soon though. I would imagine that MS would launch their next console with one and Sony will have their MMO's out next year. Nintendo...zzz.. Well they can't even get universal friends list's right yet....
