The trailer doesn't show a lot, though there is a lot of narration about the nature of time involved. We're hoping there's a sufficiently mind-bendy-time-paradoxy storyline in the final game. While most of the visuals in the trailer revolve around various pipes and cogs, we do get a glimpse of a mysterious pocketwatch, as seen above, and an elderly lombax. Are those Ratchet's parents? Who's the flying, growly voiced lombax? We're looking forward to finding out this autumn.
Fashionably late: Ratchet And Clank: A Crack In Time teaser trailer
66
The lombax is out of the bag. Insomniac's next game is Ratchet And Clank Future: A Crack In Time, making 2009 the fourth year of leapfrogging between the Resistance and Ratchet And Clank franchises. The game was announced via press release during GDC, but game assets were nowhere to be found. Thankfully we haven't had to wait long before this teaser trailer, which can be seen after the break, was aired on GT TV.

Although I do miss the sexual innuendos in the titles.
I'm always ready for some more R&C!

Really? It's fully downloaded? I have the Blu-ray version and it doesn't seem to do any more install than R&C:F did. You definitely cannot run the game without the Blu-ray.

Can't wait, I think thats a picture of Rachet and his dad due to whatever paradox Nefarious does with the Zoni, that or ratchet & future rachet, either way we finally have 2 Lombaxs in the same game at once

I'm thinking the Lombax in the video is a close friend of Ratchet's father and the guy on the left in the pocketwatch pic is Ratchets father (same color scheme and wrench and everything).

They should have went with 'Clock Blockers' like they originally planned

Insomniac is in the US, so they have the say on what it's really named. They've said on the podcast that Japan and Europe always changes their titles, which angers them since they went through the trouble of giving this portion of the Ratchet series the addition of Future to the main title.

not nearly as fun as Tools of Destruction but worth the buy. i got a couple hours out of it plus it IS Ratchet and Clank, so i say go for it. i actually might boot it up again myself pretty soon.

well i'm getting it regardless but i would absolutely LOVE some online co-op.....or online in general actually. the old games had it, not really sure why they removed it when they moved to the PS3 Future series.

9.5? that's a little too much considering how picky reviewers are these days, I say 9.4 hits the spot.

9.4? What kind of fool would waste their money on a 9.4 title? Hell, I won't buy anything under a 9.8 unless I can find it for $30 or less.
The way review inflation is going, by the end of the year anything under a 10.0 won't be buyable.

@ why not the LS2LS7? ROTFL!!!
You are right, people who buy games base their purchase sorely on reviews.Back in the days if you saw a game you liked then you'll buy without caring about any ones opinion. If uncharted 2 gets a couple 6 (I predict a couple of 10's)from reviewers , very few would buy the game.

It's best to just ignore the number score in general. They're more fodder for fanboi wars than any useful insight into the game.

There is no way in hell they can or will mess this game up.
It's going to be awesome. I expect them to add time travelling puzzles to the outstanding mix of jumping, running and gunning. A little more jumping than in the last iterations would be nice, but not mandatory.
I love the series.

It may be produced by Insomniac, but, not having learned their lesson from the Spyro games, Insomniac again developed another idea from another company (in this case Sony).
In other words, Ratchet & Clank belongs to Sony, even if the games were produced by Insomniac.

This will be cool like all the others. But guys don't expect anything revolutionary -- it'll look great, play great and have some added bits and pieces for good measure, but it won't be a 9.6 title. Probably a 9.0.

Insomniac should really just lay off of the Resistance games and make a new R&C every year!

fashionably late? i dotn think so. i actually like it being announced less than a year before, then we dont have to be teased for 20 months with a 15sec clip or 5 sec gameplay video. and then boring interviews about past present and future (classical)
i i like it so much being released this year, not even for holidays, but sooner! That adds another AAA game to the 2009 ps3 list, againts competition.
