Showcasing the cycle of "smoke a cigarette, kill a dude, get killed yourself" in a MadWorld-esque aesthetic, we can't help but wish for actual gameplay footage from the game -- the first Bad Company 2 screen was madness! We'll expect to hear more from publisher EA and developer DICE as we near E3 2009 in June. More on murder, that is.
First Bad Company 2 trailer light on gameplay, heavy on death

Light on gameplay but heavy on murder the first trailer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 got "world exclusive" status on this week's GameTrailers TV (after the break).

As long as they have coop this time around. I'm sold.

What was most disappointing to me about the absence of coop was that it would have been so easy. They had a solid single-player campaign, all the vehicles we designed for multiple people, the same three guys accompanied you through the whole game. And it's a Battlefield game, you know they can do multiplayer well.
There was really no excuse. A lot of the times I think developers say they want to focus on the narrative, and that adding coop means there's too much going on, and they have to somehow rationalize who the second player is. In my opinion, what was so successful about the first Halo's coop mode was that they didn't bother with any of that. They said whatever, there's two Spartans. It alters the story, but they knew people wouldn't care, they just want to have fun playing the same game together. Bad Company has a ton of potential for that sort of thing, it'd be such a waste for them to not capitalize on it.

Are you kidding? I'm sold no matter what. The Battlefield series is by FAR the best of online gaming on any system. Co-op is fun to run through the single player once but as soon as that's over all I care about is 24+ players online. I just hope they fix some of the bugs and glitches left over from Bad Company that never got fixed, but either way, I'm sold. Co-op or no Co-op I can't wait.

I was kinda disappointed with the MP gameplay at it's basest myself. It never seemed consistent, I would get killed from a few shots by an Assault class, but perfectly aimed down the sights shots from me barely ever seemed to kill anyone. Even worse, I remember one time where I was the support class and was using an M249 SAW and some guy came through a door right next to me, I unloaded onto him from the hip, so close that he was the only thing on my screen and didn't kill him

Although I love the console games I just wish they kept multiplayer like it was in Battlefield Modern Combat. I mean the new controls and destruction is nice but I just miss the look and feel of BF Modern Combat :(
Still I will be getting BF: BC 2 asap!

I gave up on the assault class. The best thing about it was that you could heal yourself. But every other class had the ability to kill you in one shot. Yet all the assault weapons you needed a fair bit.
Its an incredibly fun game when all things work out.

hah, I was always a sniper too. I remember one epic kill streak I had on oasis. I hid in the bushes near the river, so no one could see me, and the enemy kept trying to sneak in boats or on the other side of the river but I would snipe em even when they were obstructed by leaves. The best part was that I almost got killed but was actually someone aiming at someone else, so I knifed him and ran away into an artillery crater only to have a tank come. So I knelled down and this was probably one of the most epic things that's ever happened to me in a game, the tank just drives right over me while I looked up at the treads.

I agree about the helicopter. On the rare chance that I actually got to fly one in MP, I'd get taken down before I could figure out the controls...

Hope they bring the "lolz" back in the game, that's what sold it to me.
And for godssake turn down the difficulty on trophies/medals! 5 kills in 3 seconds? are you KIDDING me, and get 20 respawns on you without dying?! Are you freaking kidding me DICE?
Apart from that is a buy :D

I loved Bad Company online, but once my buddies moved onto another game it lost some of it's appeal. I was one hell of a chopper pilot. The only time I'd get shotdown was from jealous team-mates that wanted to fly it for 5 seconds before crashing it into a tree or something because they suffered from mild retardation.

That game was hilarious. If I hear good things from some friends of mine who share about the same sense of humor I'll rent it for sure. Oh and it needs that drill that heals vehicles but I just used to blow up walls somehow. That was so hilariously stupid and nonsensical but awesome

The best map to camp the mortar is on the map with the bigass crane and hills. You stick to the far right side of the map and no one ever takes that route and get up on the hill right behind the enemy's spawn point and you have a clear shot to the back of the mortar guys head. Then when they finally advance and that base closes you can just start camping on the crane and get a support buddy to join you and they'll rack up on healing points by placing 5 packs at your feet because likely you'll get shot very often.

I catch a lot of heat from my friends because I preferred BF: Bad Company's multiplayer over the CoD: Modern Warfare multiplayer. I'm not saying it's better, I'm just sayin' I preferred it - the satellite missile strikes, the huge maps, the classes... Loved it. Taking Dogtags? Epic.
I am definitely looking forward to this game.

Hands down, BFBC was one of the most underrated games I've EVER played. It was the fuckin' shit!
Granted, it had a few problems, hopefully they address it this time. My biggest problems were that:
1) Single player was not Coop, even though it was begging for it... Christ, main guy + 3 supporting chars? Dude, that's yelling "herro, four prayer coop right hear!"
2) I fuckin' hate how they have the yaw speed faster than the pitch speed. (you look left and right faster than you do up and down). I like to look in all four directions with the same speed. They tried to accommodated for the console FPS, but... It's a very bad accommodation, they should keep it the way I described.
3) The frostbite engine... it isn't really realtime destruction of buildings... also, the frames and floors of the buildings still stayed the same. Okay, that's a little fairer, so you can still use the building for leverage, but the least they could do is like bend the floors or something, so they look A LITTLE damaged.
Otherwise, radical game, imo. Very underrated.

Heh, they used the same concept for this trailer that they used for BF2's intro. Everything/everyone in the game can be killed by something.

The marketing for the first game was brilliant, especially those last few that spoofed other games.
