Looks cool, but the "adaptive parkour" looks more like web-less spiderman with crackdown jumping.

Tetris never had moral decisions, or a story/plot and it plays just fine....sometimes onscreen crazy destruction is a great escape in itself.

People going postal instead of progressing the story in GTA is a prime example...admit it, you've done it too if you've played the series.

This doesn't really look similar to inFamous to me, but since everyone else is picking I'd probably have to say that this looks way more fun. This doesn't seem to have the depth of the whole morality system thing, and I'll probably pick up inFamous also, but this simply looks much more appealing to me so far.

You know, I really can't get into super violent games like this. Especially when there's no reason for the violence.

Yes I was turned off as well by the unnecessary violence portrayed in the video, also not sure how you could conspicuously assume the identity of another person when your causing that person to explode into a cloud of blood and particles.

(^_^) Of course, this type of trailer just reassures the masses that video games are a murder training tool, and that all video gamers are mass murders just waiting to explode.

But seriously though, as it stands right now, its seems Prototype has nothing else to offer other than pure-unyielding-catastrophic-destruction, so...I guess the trailer fits.

It kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see civilians get brutalized in such a manner. Its a obvious gore-fest,...hmm...manhunt on crack? I can't wait to see the headlines when this game hits.

Is there like no karma system for this, cause that amount of mindless killing must have consequences, I mean GTA has it. >_> It's a little too easy to take down the military personnel here, you can basically destroy a army and take almost no damage. And of course, running away is also easy.

I just want to make sure everyone knows that I have no problem with this content being in games. If you enjoy it, then go ahead and play it; I'm not stopping you and I'm not going to think any differently of you for enjoying it.

But, personally, I don't enjoy it, so I won't be playing this.

Top 10 reasons not to play prototype

10. Run and gun has poor targeting
9. Enemies have stormtrooper syndrome
8. Pwn everything? Is this really necessary? I mean look at clip 8 in the movie. I say that is pretty boring. The physics aren't correct and the body doesn't even crumple properly.
7. Combo attacks? Really? Is this 1994?
6. Limit breaks? meh
5. Why do I want to drive one of these things seeing as I can destroy one with a single hit
4. Stealth belongs in stealth games. You know they are going to do a piss poor job at this.
3. Didn't you just show me this in #4? I think you are running out of ideas.
2. Ooooh I can run and jump on anything and pretty much fly? I'd rather not be so floaty
1. This is number 1? Seriously? The best you can do is rip off T2? We've already established that you can kill quite easily.

@EvoAnubis

I was thinking the same thing, how are they gonna make this a challenging game? The main character is so WAY beyond badass, that I can't imagine this THING dying. If I can do all that otherworldly stuff in Prototype, then there's gonna have to be some pretty nasty boss fights with a level of difficulty even Contra can't touch. XD I wonder what multiplayer would be like for this?!

I'm guessing they've got god mode on for when they capture all the footage, just so its easier to pull everything off. I'm betting the game will end up being more challenging than it looks.

This sh!t is just "The Hulk Ultimate Destruction" all over again, not sure what it says about a game based on super powers when the gun play appears to be the most interesting aspect.

Be interesting to see what kind of impression the retail copy imparts upon me.

I don't know... the game has some cool features, but the world definitely looks sparse and a bit plain. The "parkour" in this game is an absolute joke compared to inFamous. The world isn't designed with platforming or parkour in mind, it's just a bunch of plain, mostly flat surfaces that you can only "climb" because you have the ability to run up walls and jump to high heights. That's not parkour. I'm very impressed with the cover system and parkour aspects of inFamous because it is all so seamlessly integrated into the world. I'm also slightly disappointed with the animation in Prototype: it doesn't really look fluid to me. I'll wait for the reviews, but everything I've seen and heard about inFamous has convinced me on that game, already... Prototype looks fun, but it also looks kind of sloppy.

I was going to say the same thing. When you can fly from building to building, it doesn't count as parkour.

I don't understand why the physics are like that. Why are the bad guys flying through the air and bouncing off everything like pinballs. When he did that pile driver off the building on to the solider how come he was bouncing on him like a rubber ball? Why is everything flying through the air like bowling pins when he drove the tank? How did he bring down a helicopter by throwing a person at it? How come the Helicopters move as if the are like tissue paper? Sigh. I should have know that more people would defend Prototype over Infamous. Another game misunderstood because it has more depth. But mindless violence usually wins over sense anyway.

Since I have literally NO way of playing either game, since I'm in the UK and there are no demos and no games expo shows round here. So all I have to go on are the videos, and in my opinion, city roaming and super powers are pretty big similarities.

Compare for example, GTA and Saints Row - different games but still lots of similarities.

The Macho Man Randy Savage would be proud. This is like Crackdown on um... crack... with a splish splash of the wall running and wrestling moves of Spiderman 2. Now, I loved me some Crackdown and Spidy 2 so this is a marriage made in heaven. InFamous has got some competition on it's hands this year. I wasn't expecting this game to be/look this good. I'll be getting Prototype in lieu of the "in development by -someone-" Crackdown 2. Good job Radical.
