With the launch of the Nintendo DSi and its DSi Shop downloads coming next week, you might be seeing some changes to your usual Wiikly Wares posts. For now, let's just enjoy what little time we have left and think about the good times we've had.
Virtual Console
Super Punch-Out!! (SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Little Mac is back in this SNES sequel to one of the most beloved NES titles of all time. As Little Mac, you'll need to bob, weave, and pummel your way through old foes and new opponents alike. Just watch out for Hoy Quarlow. Apparently, he's allowed to box with a big wooden stick.
WiiWare
Bonsai Barber (Nintendo, 1 -4 players, 1,000 Wii Points): Nintendo's WiiWare game combines the intensity of landscaping with the personal responsibility of barbering, as you tend to the 12 demanding customers of your local town. Each day, 5 of these customers will arrive looking for that perfect style. Good luck with satisfying a strawberry boffin, a daredevil carrot, a cactus cowboy, and a suave banana with top-secret clearance (we think he's an undercover plantain).

I been waiting for Super Punch-Out to be released. I remember I had this game when I was young and beating the second to last boss (the two brothers) was the most amazing thing I did in a game ever. He was more difficult than the last fighter in the game.

wow, its not 'A Boy and His Blob' for the NES...but I will definitely get this after all the great hype surrounding the new Punch Out!
and @samfish: did you really think the arcade would have overwhelming support? I think its a waste of money...why are people still paying for 20 year old games when there has got to be a flash based site you could play it out for the 5 minutes to re-claim your nostaligia before you move on to current gen stuff ?...

Why pay money for games when you can just DL roms/emulators and do a 5-10 minute nostalgia trip before you turn it off and do something cooler?
Oh wait, that's what you said about the arcade.

Here's a shameful Dopple Boppler Nintendo lobbyist secret - I've never played Super Punch-Out, despite how much I adore the original. Even during my emulating days, for some reason I just never got around to playing this, so today will be a glorious day in redeeming myself.

It's like you bought one just so you could sell it and wait for a moment like this.

It will be nice to have an excuse to fire up the Wii and finally spend my last 600 points.
I remember playing Super Punch Out and being impressed that Little Mac was transparent during play. The Super Nintendo was an awesome machine in its day, you whippersnappers.

Ah, Super Punch Out is great.
Just downloaded it and I was doing well until I hit Aran Ryan - guess I don't have his moves committed to memory.

Lol! I figured him out and then breezed past Kagero, only to come a cropper on Mad Clown. I swear I can't even remember him being in the game, let alone his pattern.

Actually, Bonsai Barber is a cute little game. Downloaded it for my little girls and been having fun with it. Its a shame that you only have a limited number of real customers a day, but the achievement system is nice. Plus its just fun in the practice mode.
