Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts DLC trailer is bumming us out

We really hope the new Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts DLC, "L.O.G.s Lost Challenges," sells a lot of units. No, we don't have any financial stake in Rare or Microsoft, we just hope they can afford a better trailer than the one we've embedded just above.

Honestly, with that font and those production values, it looks more like an Olive Garden training video on making the perfect pasta than an advertisement for a game published by the world's largest company.

So, on April 7th, won't you please spend 400 MS points for 250 achievement points, 12 new challenges, 7 new multiplayer games and the satisfaction of knowing an up-and-coming studio won't have to post such a depressing trailer ever again? We think it's well worth it.

I'd rather Rare not waste money on fancy-schmancy trailers and instead use that extra money for more dlc.

The point wasn't that it was cheap, the point was that it sucked. You can make an excellent trailer with the same amount of time and resources that doesn't suck, just have to find the right people. That's the point.

Is that Comic Sans MS? That font needs to disappear. I see it everywhere...even those light signs on strip malls.

Nevertheless, this trailer made me care even less about the game.

That trailer was awesome, I'll have you know. Comic Sans makes EVERYTHING better.

Anyway, if Rare were to announce a platformer pack DLC and gave Kazooie back her abilities, I'd buy Banjo the next day (finally).

I hope the N64 version on XBLA becomes a deal of the week. I is a little steep right now. You can get nuts and bolts for almost the same price.

The trailer is fine, i mean its game play of what, the game, is that what a trailer, or do you want some cgi crap, i think this is way better because cgi crap is for games with huge storylines, and i think you some emotional stuff going on right now and your venting it with your post. I do not think its a case of it not looking good, i think its more of a case "i do not like this game, so i am just going to report negatively, about it" i mean if you do not like the game why post about it in the first place. And if your forced to post it then at least do a better job, or get another person to post who can do it. Negative emotions spur more negative emotions,

The trailer didn't seem all that bad. It showed just about everything you will get in the package and it was to the point. Since when does DLC need a ton of bells and whistles release trailers? Perhaps they should have switched out the music for some DeVotchKa.

uhm, the real problem is that it doesn't talk about new vehicle parts. That's all I wanted in any DLC.

Comic Sans has its uses -- when it's used appropriately it is totally fine. It's just its constant misuse (the font that's fun so you don't have to be!) that gets it a bad reputation.

Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts uses Comic Sans for its in-game text, so it's entirely fitting that it's used in the trailer.

Also, it's unfashionable to complain about Comic Sans. The moment has passed, people -- find a new overused typeface to hate, like Papyrus.

Helvetica and Times New Roman can both go to hell.

Me too. I'm sorry but I'm not supporting rare on this one. They took one of my fave platforming games and turned it into... that. Maybe if the franchise goes back to its roots I'll consider supporting again.

Sometimes I get the feeling that a group of people on this site have come to the (erroneous) conclusion that I am a complete and utter fanboy, so they down-vote even the benign stuff that I post here.

I expected more from Rare. I expected another N64-type Banjo Kazooie...

Nuts & Bolts, to me, just wasn't as good as the original N64 game. Either way, what I was saying was that I wish they would've compounded on what the original game did so well.

Sorry for my opinion....jackass.

The game never held my attention past the 10 minute mark of the demo and it felt as if it had low production values.... It was forgettable and even my g/f agreed (she beat the first one). I'm not saying it wasn't "fun", but it just wasn't what I would've come to expect from a BK game....

Next time I won't be so rash. I'll state my reason for why I didn't like it.

See, that bums me out too... not because of the trailer itself, but because Banjo Kazooie was the one game where I had a perfect 1000 gamerscore, unmarred by DLC that I may or may not feel like buying just so I can satisfy my completionist urges.

I feel your pain, man. I have that "completionist" bug, and I have a half dozen games that I hit 1000, and then DLC came out and moved the target out from under me... :/

It's worse when you don't own the games, because I know I'm not going to re-rent a game and then buy the DLC, but dangit that 1000/1250 bugs me. ]:{

Anyone actually play Nuts and Bolts? It is seriously the most criminally overlooked game of last year. There is tons to do in it, it looks great, the vehicle creation aspect is awesome, and the multiplayer modes are extremely creative and fun.

It was the best game of 08
