I'll be honest, I don't like Apple one bit. It is deeply rooted in bias towards Windows, but there really is no reason besides I've only known a scant few people who owned Apple products and weren't total dicks about it. That said, as an outside observer, they seem to be doing extremely right by the iPhone and now that I've just switched to ATT, I'm strongly considering getting one sometime in the next couple of months.

I'm a big apple fanboy, but even I think it's a bit much with the iPhone covering lately.
Why not have a "mobile games" sub-category for joystiq, only covering cellphone games?

Are you guys forgetting the iPod touch? Not everyone has to have an iPhone to enjoy all the games the App store has been pumping out lately. That being said I carry my iPod everywhere, for internet, and for games. My iPod touch has replaced my Psp and DS lite. There really are some great games, on the iPhone and iPod touch, I feel bad for people bashing them all the time because they are missing out.

Btw, geoDefense is my new Crack, thanks Justin :D

The issue with me is I don't want to be gimped when I want to do something that would require the phone capabilities. If not for that, I would probably have an iPod Touch already.

The iphone is not at all the same thing as the ipodtouch, for example Apple charges money for software updates on the touch while they are free on the phone (by the way, they are free on the PSP). Also, these updates are not at all equal, for example Skype will only be on the phone (pssst: it's on the PSP). One more thing, the touch does not have a camera and you can't add one either (the PSP can).

We really don't need to see iPhone games on here... we come here to read news about real games... let engadget handle the iPhone loving.

Nice job taking the time to comment on things you have no interest in.

Tell me, what exactly is a "fake" game? I'd like to know.

Man up and deal with it.

As for you and 'Required' talking about how cell phone games have been around for years, well, guys: times change.

These games are for the iPhone and the iPod touch, a hugely popular platform. This is a different time when the games on phones are better than ever. Maybe Joystiq didn't write about Tilt-a-world or whatever, but they're talking about mobile games now. At least KBeeHaze had the balls to say what he was trying to say, which was that he thinks the iPhone sucks - you guys could just do the same, and leave it at that.

And Required: Psst - Skype came out today for the iPhone platform - and it runs on the iPod Touch as well. So you're a little off on that one.

If you don't want to read about iPhone games then don't read them. Seems simple enough to me.

half-assed iphone games? what about the multitude of garbage wii/ds games that are covered here? those two systems alone amass far more crap than iphone games.

maybe joystiq shouldnt cover any console or system... since they all produce crappy games... all the time.

I agree with JeSuz, a lot of people just bash the iPhone but they don't realise that is rapidly becoming a news worthy contender in the portable games market. Yes they're mobile games but at the same time some of them are nothing like mobile games ;-)

Galaxy On Fire for example is a fully fleshed out Sci-Fi RPG with a Mass Effect style Galaxy map! - http://tiny.cc/PyKcY

I've said it before and I will say it again, it's both goofy and odd that they don't cover all the other cellphone games like Tornado Mania or 3D Tilt-a-World. It's not as if the iPhone is the first to do it. It's not even the first to have motion controls.

Great, another 99 cent game, the price point I can't resist.

Justin, give Drop 7 a try, that's another fantastic, addictive iPhone/iPod Touch game.

I think the G1 is sort of a clunker (I don't like the shape/thickness, I don't need a physical keyboard on my phone any longer, I want a standard headphone jack), but I do think Android is a strong platform.

I'm interested in seeing other Android phones.

You have got to be shitting me Joystiq. Are we seriously going to merge with Engadget? No more iPhone articles, it doesn't have any damn buttons or sticks, it's a phone. Leave the phones to engadget. They love stroking their apple products over there.

Oh NO! NO BUTTONS OR STICKS! I gotz to have my sticks or I cantz playz!!!

Yet.... somehow there are an amazing number of really good games on the iPhone/iTouch. And I'm not just saying that cuz I'm the developer of geoDefense. I can't imagine playing Flight Control, for instance, with a stick. :)

If you are indeed the developer of said game you certainly aren't doing well of making your game look good acting in such a manner. This is Joystiq and called such for a reason, we have for nearly 5 years focused on console gaming. There are sister sites that cover this sort of thing. If you want to see someone stroke Steve Job's.. ego go over the Engadget.

Hmm. The Wii Remote doesn't have any sticks either. I think you just don't like the iPhone, because if it's games you want to hear about, these iPhone posts do cover *games*.

You clearly have issues with Apple, because you lash out at a post covering an indie dev's great game, claiming those who want to read about it are "stroking Steve Jobs' ego." Imagine saying Joystiq is 'stroking Bill Gates' ego' because they wrote a review of 'N' on the 360 marketplace, and you start to see how transparent your whole argument is, Anticrawl.

Joystiq: It covers gaming. The iPhone is now a viable gaming option. It's not a big deal, and the games are good.
