It's okay, we can wait. Just head over to the Capcom Store and buy your copy of Okami right now. It's only $20.
What's that? Oh, yes, that price applies to both the PS2 and Wii versions. Seriously, Capcom lowered the price to $20. We know, right? What? You say you haven't even played Okami yet? You'd better hurry up and buy it before someone finds out. It's okay, we won't tell anyone.

PS2: looks more like an ink and wash painting (sumi-e)
Wii: looks more like a regular game
Also, isn't the PS2 version of this game a Greatest Hits?

Hmm, $9 shipping kind of kills the deal.

Yeah! Okami! It's a great game. Glad I preordered the PS2 version when it came out.

Have they removed the IGN logo from the front of the Wii case yet?

You could've gotten the free new covers ( there were 3 of them I think? ) they were offering for those who already bought the game...
...but I think that offer's over.
... I suppose you could find a print-out somewhere online. :p

Wasn't this already 19.99? At least I thought it was from Amazon...

It is! with a better shipping policy. The PS2 version is 17.99. I don't see how this article is news.

lemme just copy something I wrote elsewhere for those debating which version to get:
As someone who has only played the Wii version, let me give a quick run down of differences:
PS2: Art style has a very pronounced 'paper filter'. Looks like a moving painting.
Wii: Art style looks more like wet paint.
WINNER: Up to personal tastes. I prefer the Wii version; it feels more 'alive', and the colours look beautiful.
PS2: The Paint Brush is controlled with a somewhat cumbersome combination of joysticks and buttons.
Wii: The Paint Brush is controlled by a somewhat inaccurate use of the IR pointer
WINNER: Up to personal tastes. I only had a couple major issues with the Wii drawing, and I imagine I would've suffered on PS2 too. Even if you make mistakes more often in the Wii version, however, it rapidly speeds up the game. You can draw much much faster with a pointing device than with a joystick.
PS2: Presentation is a bit more well rounded; the credits were chopped out in the Wii version. The Wii version also apparently lacks an epilogue.
Wii: Presentation looks better most of the time, assuming that you have a 16:9 TV. I believe the cutscene skip feature was added for the Wii version, but it might be in the PS2 one. FMVs are recycled from the PS2, and still have the old visual style, and look slightly out of place.
WINNER: Up to personal tastes. I personally can't imagine playing it without the 16:9 beauty of the Wii version, and the issues are small enough.
OVERALL WINNER: Up to personal tastes. Big surprise.
I personally recommend the Wii version, unless you have some sort of motor control problem that would make drawing with a joystick the only practical way. Of course, if you don't have a Wii, the PS2 version would have to suffice. If you don't have a PS2, there's something wrong with you.
At any rate, whichever version you get, GET IT. Unless you absolutely hate Zelda (and I mean all Zelda-- if you have even a twinge of a happy memory for OOT, play this), play it. It's almost an homage, while also having more than enough character to stand on its own two feet, and even manage to make you forget how much they have in common at times.

I picked up the Wii version at Circuit City before the closed down for under $20. Very fun and very pretty game. Still has the IGN watermark, but I think you can print out new covers somehow.

I've looked at this on and off. Visually, it sounds like a beautiful story that I would enjoy, and it seems to incorporate Japanese culture well.
I always hesitate to pick it up because it warns about "Blood and gore" and "Fantasy Violence." Sometimes, these factors are very little (for example, Final Fantasy has "Fantasy Violence," but it doesn't bother me). Others have too much; it's one reason I have yet to get a PS3. ATM, most games are ones I can't/won't play.
I'm very squeamish, even when it comes to fake/cartoon blood, and I don't like games that have it. Would you say that Okami is very bloody/gorey? If not, why does it have that warning?
I am very interested in hearing your answers!
[Also, which is the ported game, PS2 or Wii? I have both consoles, but ports are often not as great, imo, as the platform the game was originally designed for.]

I don't remember there being any blood in Okami. If there is, there's very, very little of it and it's so stylized that it wouldn't seem violent anyway.
I'd get the Wii version. The PS2 version is superior on a technical level (and it has the credits!), but the Wii version is more satisfying to play. Plus if you buy the Wii version it makes it that much more likely (which isn't saying much) that we'll get a sequel.
Either way you can't go wrong.

Okami is one of the bestest games ever. Y'all have no more excuses!
(get the Wii version. I wants a sequel)
...and while you're throwing money Capcom's way, Clover's other and MORE criminally under rated masterpiece God Hand is only $20 bucks, too!

You realize that theres no way in hell that CAPCOM would hire Platinum to make the sequel right? That pretty much guarantees EPIC FAIL for a sequel

you forget this is the same CAPCOM that:
1. promised 5 exclusive games to the GameCube, canceled one without explaining why, then released 3 of the remaining on the PS2 (Killer7 was even a simultaneous release!)
2. Has ported RE4 not once (PS2), not twice (Wii), but THRICE (360/PS3)
3. released Dead Rising: Chop till you Flop while trying to cover up the abortion by announcing Dead Rising 2

Shame on you all for not buying this game already. I pre-ordered and bought the PS2 version, and then bought it again a year later for a friend's birthday... It's seriously THAT GOOD. I should probably buy more copies to give to the ignorant masses who have still not bought this game.
It's all your fault that Clover closed. And yes, this includes you Wii people. We're not getting a sequel and it's all your faults for not buying this amazing game when it first came out.

I had Okami for PS2 back when it first came out but never got around to playing all that much of it. I have a BWC-PS3 and a Wii. I think I'd rather get it for my PS3 though.

I gave Okami to my girlfriend's 14 year old nephew for PS2, and he couldn't be bothered to pull himself away from the dozens of WW2 FPSs to play a worthwhile game. This game is awesome, but good luck getting people to go back now and find that out.
