For most hardcore gamers, PS2's drop into the $99 range is not really big news. Most of us, at one point or another, have owned a PS2. But, this guide isn't about you. No, it's about all the other people that Sony's trying to get into gaming and they're all around you. At $99, the PS2 has become a pretty attractive gift-giving option for your mom, your little sis, and the tons of people that haven't been able to afford a gaming console until now. The following gift guides will give your friends (and enemies) everything they'll need for under $200.

	For the Wannabe Rockstar You can get yourself an entire set of plastic instruments and become a pretend music hero with this bundle.
	For the Angry PS3 Owner You have a PS3, but no backwards compatibility. $200 will net you a new PS2 Slim and some awesome games.
	For the Fitness Nut You don't need a Wii to get a workout. If going outside is too much a burden, try these PS2 games.

I'm thinking of getting another, my PS2 must be over 7 years old now - i want another so i can say, in 10 years time that i owned one of the best systems ever made, then i can pull it out and it'll still work ;)

I know some of these lists are for the LOLs, but in order to save your progress in most of those games you need a memory card. That's some extra cost you're not considering.

And yeah, I know, it doesn't matter anyway.

Would I be able to get a White one for $99? I want a PS2 slim for absolutely no reason...just to have. I'd be willing to drop the benji as long as its a white one :)

I never had a PS2 but bought me the MGS PS3 with limit backcompat. Surprisingly I ended up buying most of the games on the 'Angry PS3 owner' list.

You know, that silver PS2 would go great with my silver SD in my spare room. And at only $99, I could buy it, a few Singstar games (Im a closeted karaoke freak), Okami (again), and a few other games and get more than my moniez worth. And the best part is, I could finally sell my PS1, since the PS2 is 100% backwards compatible :D. Though, I'll probably still keep, just for nostalgia's sake

Would it be appropriate to mention the GameCube's been $99 for however long now?

Still, not that I don't have my peeve with that: no new black consoles at Wal-Mart (had a gift card), and dead support for progressive output (the Game Boy Player, 'bout damn near the only "game" not compatible with the Wii, supports progressive, which is slightly pertinent when playing games designed for a progressive screen (gah, the lined flicker!)).

Considering it's a dead console with no shelf space, I don't see any value in a GameCube at this point.

Took them long enough to drop it to that price. They should have done this for the holidays, this would of made a good addition with buying with a PS3 since it is not backwards compatible.
