It's the biggest StarCraft II announcement since the game itself -- and would make Michael Bay proud. Blizzard today unveiled the largest unit to date in its RTS franchise: the Terran Terra-Tron. This hulking bipedal war machine is actually built from the combined pieces of an entire Terran base. The base "transforms," if you will.
As if its sheer mass and weapons load-out weren't enough to intimidate Zerg and Protoss adversaries, the thing speaks. Phrases such as, "Hell, it's transformin' time" and "Terra-Tron, terrorize!" should turn any rush into a retreat. Blizzard has videos of the Terra-Tron doing big things on the game's official site -- but hurry, it might be gone come April 2.

Heh, that's excellent! I'd love to bring out one of those bad boys mid-way through a skirmish.
You've really got to love the internet when it comes to April Fools Day. Nothing can quite compare.

didn't thinkgeek put the SMB 1 up mushroom into production due to popular demand?
plus it's a smart way of researching the market!
1. provide realistic product during april fools!
2. create product due to high demand from fanboy/girls
3. sell it!
4. ?????
5. profit.

"ATTN Tauntaun Fanatics! Due to an overwhelming tsunami of requests from YOU THE PEOPLE, we have decided to TRY and bring this to life. We have no clue if the suits at Lucasfilms will grant little ThinkGeek a license, nor do we know how much it would ultimately retail for. But if you are interested in ever owning one of these, click the link below and we'll try! "
told ya so! :) now enjoy!

Who said that this is not real? Just wait and mess with the Map Creator Tool and you'll find yourself amazed, that i guarantee you.
Just think for a moment, do you remeber something similiar ? Aka. Pandarens? They always put those things in the game, Heck, in Warcraft 3 there was even a cube with Samwise Didier's face on it for you to play with...

First off it should totally be in the map editor.
Second, the GoLion and Voltron references on the page are just win.

well yes there are, obviously, I just didn't find them as interesting. I really just wanted to point out the GoLion reference because I don't think a lot of people would pick up on it. Goraion Systems and No Lion assembly.

I hope they keep the model in-game for at least custom map making. Would def. be cool to use as an extra ingame unit for custom campaigns..

Wow this feature is so cool, so sad it's only an april fools joke. They should rethink this, just remember Warcraft III where the the fighting peasants have been the last resort. Wouldn't it be cool if your base would transform into this as a last line of defense?
You see Blizzard changed, some time ago they would have implemented this as a great new feature, nower days it's just about squeezing out as much money as possible from gamers. Just have a look at WoW.

You guys sure this is a joke? It's April 1 has come and gone, but the Terra-Tron is still throughout the site, including the front page.

Got to be. It's got Blizzard typical humoring charm all over it. I'd assume the feature from the site should be gone by late mid-day.
