It's generally best to keep your character from exploding in most games. That's not the case in the latest effort from Curve Studios, developers of Buzz! Master Quiz for PSP. Explodemon! (we're guessing from the logo it's "explode" plus "demon," not "Explodémon") is described as "a loving homage to SNES-era Japanese action games," in which your Mega Man-esque character must explode to survive. Paradoxical much?
Judging by the trailer's content -- which, by the way, appears to be of the PS3 version -- the side-scrolling game takes its central mechanic quite seriously. Explodemon explodes to double jump, dash, attack and knock objects into enemies. The game, set for 2009 release on WiiWare, PSN and PC, seems like a potentially sweet, retro-inspired treat. Hopefully it doesn't bomb.
They tried 2.5D Mega Man games. They are never as good. Look at MMX 7 and 8. Look at MM Powered UP! for PSP, as well as Maverick Hunter X. MHX was good actually, but not as good as the original on SNES. 2D will always rule teh MegaMans, kid!!
I guess I'm not the only one who thought of exploding Pokemon when I saw the title XD
All jokes aside, this doesn't sound like something I'd get for myself; however, my younger brother, who loves anything and everything that explodes, will be sure to get a kick out of something like this. Then again most boys would, I'm sure :P
Definitely looks like Mega Man in style, but with that very specific, almost puzzle-like gameplay of a game like Pulse Man or Drill Dozer... Or maybe I'm just looking too much into it. Either way, looks fun!
Saw this earlier today at gametrailers and was sad to see they had listed it as an April Fool's gag. Is this the real deal? Because I really want to play this game. A shame it won't be on the 360 but I have a Wii & PS3 so no worries.
when ironman meets megaman... u will get this ... bud, seems to be a fun gameplay, but character designs are so poor. ah, and graphics design also, interface, and stuf... poor poor....
