The game is currently planned for Winter release in Japan. Considering this is a main entry in the series, we're confident Namco Bandai will also announce plans for a US release. Watch an early teaser after the break.
Goodness gracious! Tales of Graces announced for Wii

Two Tales announcements not enough for you? Good, because Namco Bandai has one more ace up its sleeve. The next "real" Tales game has a home, and it's Nintendo Wii. Tales of Graces doesn't stray far from previous Tales games, with its cel-shaded environments and real-time action RPG battle sytem. According to Kombo, the theme of this new adventure is "protecting people." Guess this isn't the M-rated anti-hero Tales game we've all been waiting for.

Not to sound like a "good-guy" fanatic but hasn't the anti-hero gotten old by now?

Dawn of the New World was a lot of fun (well-designed dungeons and patented Tales battle system), but the dialogue and story were nigh on insulting. I have honestly never played a game (with the possible exception of Star Ocean 3) that has such offensively bad characters and writing as that one, and it made the thing virtually unplayable. It's just really hard to get into an RPG when you pray the main character will die after every fight.
Still, the rest of the series is pretty good and it certainly never hurts to get another action-RPG.

That elevator puzzle in the beginning was beyond tedious. Also, not having three characters consistently until about 15 hours in is a real killer for the multi-player experience compared to the first one.
Here's hoping this one is a better multi-player game.

Every console had it's horribly overrated RPGs, and the GC was no exception.I loved ToS's battle system, but almost nothing else about the game was likable. The character development was slow, the characters themselves were all generic and stereotypical (you got your goody goody main character who matures out of nowhere, your overly cheery characters, your straight badass characters... though Kratos was the good kind of badass), the story progressed like a snail would progress over a floor covered in vaseline, the VO was Sonic Adventure 2: Battle bad, and the music, in pure Tales fashion, was good but often used improperly and ruined a lot of scenes. The game had a lot of good things going for it, and that's why I still like it. I just honestly don't see how someone could call it 'the best game ever'.Oh, I get it! APRIL FOOLS! Oh man, you really got me good.

Just to clarify, I'm simply disagreeing with you. Not namecalling or shit like that simply because I have an opinion over a single game that differs.

It's not one of the Kosuke Fujishima character design Tales games, which has always been the qualifier for what a "real" Tales game is in my mind, but it might still be good.

Oh, and hopefully Motoi Sakuraba is doing the music again. That trailer sounds like it could be him. One of the best composers in the industry.

I remember reading that all consoles would get their own exclusive tales game. Not sure if thats accurate or not, though. I have to say that the trailer (though it was a teaser) looked pretty boring. It looked extremely desolate without anyone on screen anywhere.
Using the same art style they did with Vesperia is very smart considering it can make up for a lot of other things the eye can see that isn't endearing. The Wii certainly needs some actual RPG's so this is a great announcement as far as I'm concerned.

Nice... finally a mothership Tales game on the Wii...
Don't get me wrong... Tales of Symphonia is great... better than some other Tales games, but having a main game on the Wii is great news.

I wonder if you're always alone - I don't actually mind the character style - his clothing is a little lounge lizard-esc but I can deal with it. Been so long since I played the Gamecube tales game - that I don't recall if it was a action RPG. It doesn't seem like that was the case.

The video was just a teaser from last year. The series is indeed an action RPG.
You will see very action filled with a lot of enemies battles.

I'm gonna force myself not to give a shit until there's an official US release confirmation. I refuse to get my hopes up after what happened with Tales of Innocence.

Alas, one of the greatest advocates of Tales that i know of does not go to this site. Soriku could make the case optimally
Though ultimately, Tales is Tales, though this game is supposed to be closer to Symphonia than Vesperia, much like Arc Rise Fantasia.

Got excited, 'till I watched the video clip.
No multiplayer. Only thing I like about the Tales games. Honestly, without multiplayer, the games become almost unbearable based off my previous experience of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Abyss. Talk about games that DRAG, and are hilariously wooden and cliched. But with multiplayer, its made a lot more fun, especially in boss battles and we can all groan and laugh at the plot being handled hilariously awfully.
Therefore, tales of Vespia coming to the PS3 FTW.

God damn, has no one even played Tales of the Abyss? Yeah, it's kind of annoying to hear Johnny Yong Bosch as three different Tales characters (Emil, Guy Cecil, and Cress Albain), but I can get over it because he at least changes up his voice enough to make the characters their own. But it's like you're making it seem that Namco Bandai hasn't done a good job anywhere with voices. Hell, even Tales of Legendia has pretty good voice work, and that was made before Namco and Bandai merged. Seriously though, quit bitching about the voice work, because you can't do any better, and at least DotNW didn't get as screwed over as the US release of Tales of Symphonia.

Oh, well, at least leave the original jap Dubs in place, as a choice, for those who enjoy the game as the director envisioned... the English Dubs acting makes the game looks twisted, and almost "hypocrite"..when you lsiten them talking adn you think" Ok, man, I know you do this for some extra bucks...but heck, put some heart into..".. there is just a small number of real "Dubbers" on the western... but is like 1 every10-20 .. :-(
