It's a known, scientific fact that Grand Theft Auto and other violent video games turn players into killers. But, apparently, its influence is so vile, it can even effect those that have to watch someone play. The Telegraph reports that after retired airport worker Malcom Palmer's partner repeatedly threw him out of the bedroom -- so she could play more Grand Theft Auto -- he stabbed Carol Cannom, the mother of his children, to death.
Since the mainstream media isn't great with specifics when it comes to writing about video games, we don't know which PlayStation she was using, or which GTA she was playing. But it sounds like GTA might not have been the only problem in this relationship. For example: Though the PlayStation takes The Telegraph's headline heat, the story mentions "Palmer had also become convinced that she was having an affair, and went into a violent rage when she told him she wanted him to move out in November last year, threatening that he would never get to see their children again."
... So, yeah. It's either that, or the PlayStation.

More like the defense saw something they could use to make it seem like the wife's fault.

Some nut from my town in Alaska got arrested for a murder streak down in Colorado that was totally random. In the paper up here the police mentioned "violent video games" as being a possible culprit. I could play violent video games for months and not feel the urge to go on a murder streak, you have to be deranged to do that!

Wow...just wow. But wait a second, hasn't the media taught me that it's always the person plays the games that's turned into a murdering automaton? I'm confused.

The article said they had been together 30 years, since he was 32 and she was 16! Sounds like he had issues already.

The real reason he killed her: she would call him on his cell phone while he was working to see if he wanted to go drinking with her...every five minutes.

Oh come on it not PlayStation, in fact it is the Xbox360 version of GTA4, that make people like that.
Since the XBox360 GTA4 got the extend version, PS3 GTA4 has already finished the game already, once that make people keep on playing this is when the extension pack release on the XBox360.
It not the PS3 it is the Xbox360

It sounds like the marriage thing inflamed him but the lack of GTA (coping mechanism?) pushed him over the edge....
I do not really know the story or care but I am not defending or attacking video games every time a story like this comes out.

I feel sorry for the kids. Really, really sorry.
And I can do nothing but look down upon and frown at the misinformation and false accusations spread by this "newspaper". There always has to be a scapegoat, doesn't there?
