Brütal Legend may officially be for Xbox 360 and PS3, but a recent conversation with 1UP may make hopeful metal action heroes rockin' a Wii take pause. The site confronted Double Fine honcho Tim Schafer about a pulled article by GoNintendo that the title was coming to Wii. Schafer's reaction was certainly interesting, as he asked his handler how to respond to the question, and simply stated, "We are making an Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Brütal Legend."
Indulging pure speculation, it's very possible that Schafer is telling the truth and the in-house version of Brütal Legend is not being made for Wii. We've seen it countless times at this point that many studios develop for Xbox 360 and PS3, leaving the Wii work to an outside entity. That doesn't mean Brütal Legend for Wii is confirmed, but hesitation (and checking with the handler) is typically a sign that there's something more to the story.

Here's a comment from the Double fine website about Psychonauts for the Gamecube :
Q:"Why didn’t you make Psychonauts for the GameCube? Do you hate Nintendo? And if that’s true, what’s your address, because I’m coming over to kill you right now. I’m going to show you my Pokemans, and it will be the last thing you ever see."
A:"Settle down, fanboy. No one loves Nintendo more than me (well, maybe this guy). Most of my all time favorite games are Nintendo games. I have touched Shigeru Miyamoto with my bare hands!!! (He was very soft and pleasant.) Double Fine would love to make something for Nintendo’s fine machine, but it’s not up to us. It’s the publisher’s money, so they get to decide what platform to invest in. In other words, IT’S NOT OUR FAULT! I personally would have loved to make Psychonauts for the Game Cube. (Well, not literally me personally. I would have loved to tell someone else to make it, and I would have loved to watch them do it, and I would have loved yelling, “Faster! Faster!” as they worked.) I really hope we get a chance to make a game for the Wii some day. Why don’t you spam your favorite publisher with mail right now and ask them to send us money to make a Wii game? (And a little extra money for a pool table?)"
As always, game for the wii will always be done by another team. An it would be pretty stupid not to release something for Wii.

As long as they don't have to sacrifice the quality of the 360/ps3 versions so all of them can be equal then I'm fine with it.

I don't know what makes me more sad, the fact that this game is having so much trouble coming out or jack black having bundles of money.

tmac: Definitely the bundles of money. At least if the game comes out we get entertainment. How will Jack's bundles of money entertain us?

lets just hope they dont make a ''chop till you drop'' version of the game and actually port the proper version of the game to the wii.
at least more ppl can play the game.
to think this game was a candidate for cancellation months back and here were talking bout a wii version..
amazing times.

"We are making an Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Brütal Legend."
Am I the only one to notice he doesn't deny they are making an in-house Wii version? He cleverly dodges the issue by stating a fact (they are making the PS3/360 version) but never confirms, denies, or even hints at the Wii version.
For all we know he could be thinking "We are making an Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Brütal Legend... and a Wii version that we haven't talked about yet"
He's not lying, but he's not being straightforward either...

The first thing I thought of when I saw the image was Megas XLR and suddenly I thought, "OMG Megas XLR game!"
Then I saw it was some lame game starring Jack Black (entertaining guy in his own right but there shouldn't be a game about him).
Leslie Nielsen would make a pretty badass main character for a video game. I'm not sure how you would work him into any role of a video game, but it would be badass.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure he doesn't play himself in the game. Besides, I haven't been let down by Schafer or Black (Be Kind Rewind!) so I'm cautiously optimistic.
