In this video, we show off the DSi's ability to record and distort sounds. The system also plays AAC files from an SD card, but we don't actually have any AAC files. (All MP3 here, folks!) Regardless, you'll get a kick out of the sound distortion.
So the DSi is a bigger DS that can do 2 new things and 1 less thing, edit sound with worse capabilities than sound editing software for a C64, and take and edit pictures with worse capabilities than my cell from 2 years ago. oh ya and now in CAN'T play GBA games. Ummm who is going to buy this? I don't see ANY reason at all to own a DSi. Its about as stupid as the MacBook Air and the new talking iPod Shuffle. Altho, I did hear that the DSi has "Rainbow" capabilities now... maybe that's the selling point?
You know I never got the point any music player that can't play MP3s. Yeah, I'm going to convert or re-buy all my music so I can just get the newest bit of eye candy to impress idiots.
So then SD card storage and DSiWare are the selling point of this thing? I'm still not sold! We can use the SD card to store are photos and then manipulate them with the DS? Can't we do that on our phones, cameras, and computers? The SD card can also store music, If only there were another much cheaper device that could let us listen to music, damn, maybe one day :P And if DSiWare is anything like its Wii counterpart, we will be buying GBA games... They should make a DS with a GBA slot!, oh wait!, they did!
Remove GBA port, so now we can charge them for the GBA games AGAIN... Prints Money still!
i've heard the sound is pretty good and hopefully a firmware update will change the only ACC rule :D but anyways the dsi's camera is ok its not like it's terrible the 0.3 640-480 shows up really well on the screens and you cant really tell from the vid because he's only using a standard digital camera to record it. The browser isn't something you'll be using every day but it's pretty convinent because it uses wifi so you can use it in places where a cp cant. The dsi shop is going to be filled with non game related apps so im really looking forward to that. GPS? video playback? facebook? twitter? all fun ideas. maybe a video camera? faster browser? not to mention the only dsi enhanced cards. so it loses the gba compatibility. ok gba games are gonna be released on the dsi shop too. worried about guitar hero? chances are that they'll release one on the dsi because it was so popular. with the bigger screens i wont be suprised if all the buttons are just on screen. so umm yeah. Dsi worth you're money? yeah. plain and simple.
Regarding AAC... Did you purchase a protected music file, protected has DRM applied to it and won't play but if you buy an iTunes Plus song then it should, I would assume, play fine... more and more songs on iTunes are iTunes Plus now.
Right next to the play button there is another button you didn't even speak about. It plays sounds backwards, like devil messages on ACDC LPs. At least read the manual or do some research. and seriously, you couldn't find one aac file on the internet just for the preview? /rant
A great way to convert your mp3 files to AAC would be to use BonkEnc. It can be found at www.download.com for free. I have used this to convert files for the Wii's Photo Channel with great success. It can also rip tracks off of CDs for you as well. The only issue I have is it won't convert to/from wma.
