At least that's what John Koller, head of marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment of America, told VG247 earlier this week. "We had our largest sales year ever last year, and we'd look to go about 10-15 percent north of that this year," Koller said of the PSP, citing the upcoming software packs and software lineup as reason for his confidence. Continuing, Koller noted, "We also had our best sales year for PS3 last year and we'll look to go north of that by a similar percentage," again citing upcoming software bundles and lineup as driving the increased numbers.
So we put the numbers for Sony's PS3 in 2008 against those of the previous year and found it sold just like Koller said (as seen in the graph above), with PS3 sales increasing by 40 percent. In fact, we spoke with Jesse Divnich, director of analyst services at EEDAR, who said Koller's numbers are modest, with EEDAR company predicting a 25 percent increase in PlayStation 3 sales this year and a 16 percent increase for PSP sales. Even averaged together, that's still an over 20 percent increase predicted for this year. So, maybe 2008 was the year of the PS3 after all?

Nintendo is untouchable through the general consumer's eye. It's amazing to watch. And I'm not bashing them at all, this is praise. Think about it.
They have convinced Joe Six-Pack and Sally Lose-a-Couple-Pounds that they have their best interest at heart. Put on a great show on the family scene. (I'm not debating whether this is genuine or not)
But when it comes to making money, they do it hand over fist because they know they've got their audience's complete and undivided attention. They rarely lower their prices on hardware or first-party titles, opting instead to wage multi-format ad campaigns to keep their brand and message fresh in the public mind.
Say whatever you want about their zany decisions and seeming disdain for the hardcore gamer, but these guys know what they are doing. They've been at it a long, long time, and there is no evidence that the Money Printing Machine is going to break down anytime soon.

Theres only a finite amount of people on the planet and a finite amount of people who want a Wii.
Looking at recent sales chart's were soon going to see what the finite number is.

My bad I didn't specify. I was talking about the Wii console itself. The prices have gone down since it was first released.

How much 'bragging' rights do 360 owners have?
I mean did you notice that PS2 almost sold exactly the same amount as 360's did in the last 4 yrs combined?
Sony's Last Gen system sold bout the same as Microsofts "next gen"...LOL
That would be like if the GameCube sold the same as the PS3 over 4 yrs LOL!!!
Make a 4 yr chart that combines PS3 & PS2 sales VS 360 & Xbox sales & see who sold more units...The 3 reasons PS3 isn't ahead of 360 yet is $price, 1 yr late start, & Sony competes against itself with the PS2.

Economic crisis + Most expensive console = NO MATCH ...
Seriously, the crisis is expanding in more and more families, I'm not sure they will go for the most expansive console on the market when they can play for less money !

O_o it's so crazy to think that a price cut will come
or that a family in crisis will spend $400 or $500 in a gaming console...

Assuming that this is a serious enquiry:
You should have a PlayStation Home icon on the XMB under Network between the Sign In icon and the PlayStation Store icon. Click on that and you will launch into the download driver. You wil need to reserve ~4 GB of space. Once the basic download finishes, you should re-launch into Home and be in your basic apartment.
If your region doesn't have a Home space, then you might not have this option (but you could use a PSN ID linked to another region).
