Saw the trailer the other day.
Look's like it'd definitely a kid's only film. But I might end up watching it at some point.

Currently I'm not fussed for "3D", especially not fussed to go see a film just because it's in 3D.
I'd want to see "3D" in an action film if anything, Action film's are the best for showing off any new cinema tech, be it surround sound with the explosions, HD for being able to see said explosions in awesome detail, and 3D for having explosion's in your face.(Compared to practically any other Genre par Sci-Fi)

I loved that book! The art in it was so amazing when I was younger.

That being said, I will probably not ever want to play a game based on the material. But I will be interested to see how it turns out.

I had that book growing up. I remember enjoying. As for a game version of the book turned movie, I think I will pass

The window of opportunity to play games based on this has book passed (besides the graphics would have looked like pong back then). LOL

Oh wow, they completely changed the book. I'm very disappointed with that movie trailer. This was my favorite book as a kid.

Quite determined to bastardize my childhood, between this, GI Joe, and that Three Stooges movie apparently coming in 2010

Helluva book, though.

What is the deal with Hollywood trying to cash in more on my childhood than it already has... first my favorite kids TV shows, now my books?! I mean, LOTR was inevitable, but these books were the last ones I thought would be made into movies:

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Where the Wild Things Are
The Giver (this one I am actually a little excited about)

Leave little Nicky alone!

I vaguely remember the book, but it was entertaining insofar as I can remember. Anyone remember another children book where dinosaurs were in human roles and eventually built a rocket to leave? "Where the Wild Things Are" trailer is better.

I've known about this movie for a while now. I first heard of it when I heard that Where the Wild Things are started production again. I loved this book when I was little (I was a fat kid), and I don't have high hopes for the movie. At least Bruce Campbell does voice work in it!

Wow, might be a decent game. Ooops, Ubisoft. Nevermind, its chances have been greatly reduced.

This was definitely one of my favorite books growing up. I saw the trailer for the movie, can't say I'm optimistic about it.

CWACOM is possibly the best book ever written, just barely topping out over The Great Gatsby and The Illiad.

Just watched a bit of the trailer, only 5 seconds of it confirmed it will be a disgrace. Way to go with ruining a great book's story.

Wait, how the fuck is this book a good port into a video game? Let alone a feature film

It's not. Watch them throw in some family issues and serious business like they're doing with the "where the wild things are" movie. There really isn't much you can do with books that have under 200 words and 20 pages.

This book is still popular with the kiddos today! It's a well read tome in my 2nd grade classroom library.
I'm intrigued by the idea of a game to go with the book.

great book as a kid. game? i don't know about that. it would be like adapting "Where the Wild Things Are" into a movie. some things don't (or shouldnt) translate into the gaming medium.

Hey there,

Wow! I definitely loved this book when I was younger. I'm confused by the movie because it bears no resemblance to it's source. That really bothers me. At least the CG in "Polar Express" was done in a way to look like the artwork in the book. Even though I knew what I was watching when this preview came up, I didn't really believe it was based on the book I loved.

I think I'll be staying away from this game,

manaman
