"Ancel also apparently notes that the gameplay will be different this time around, as the team's looking for ways to distinguish it from the original" Am i the only one worried about that statement? The original game wasn't perfect but it was breath of fresh air for the last generation.I'm hoping it's the same this gen, don't screw it up ubisoft.

I hope they don't make it more linear. Sequels seem to suffer from that problem way too often the past few years.

They better not change the gameplay too much. That game is one of the reasons I still plug in my original Xbox on occasion.

Depends on what he's talking about. The fighting was really bland in the first one, nothing to really distinguish it. Coming up with a unique, or even updated, battle system would not hurt BG&E. Better not ditch my camera though, that would piss me off.

I think it would be fun is there was less emphasis on fighting (not that there was too much in the original) to keep it about stealth and sleuth. Any fighting should be surprise-based, like the Thief games.

I love just about every game that Ancel has done. I am not worried.

Man I was really into the first game then there was some glitch and I could hear this character that I needed to talk to but he wasn't there, and I spent like 3 hours walking around and looking at walkthrough pictures, and it was clearly just a glitch and my save file was rendered useless and I never played it again. So, in short, don't do that again Ancel or there's gonna be trouble.

I remember one glitch on the last level where a door would close leaving Pey'j and Double H behind, leaving you unable to ascend the elevator. Happened to me the second time I played, and unfortunately, I had saved after. Couldn't complete the game!

Still one of my all time favorites though, keeping BG&E2 firmly nestled at the top of my most wanted until it releases.

There's the infamous "triangle key" glitch, as well. It happened about half-way through the game. Basically, this triangle key was supposed to drop after killing some baddies so that you could open a door, but it wouldn't drop, for some reason, and once you re-entered the area, the game would crash.

Ubi's support for the game was so paltry that the community had to make its own patch to get around this game-killing bug.

That said, it's still one of my favorite games, and I can't wait to see what they do with a sequel, given more support and a bigger budget.

Didn't watch the vid but the resume says:
- They're thinking about a platform game with the Raving rabbits
- BGE2 is stil in pre-prod
- Characters from the first game will be present
- The story will use some elements of BGE to extend them
- More freedom, more investigations, more immersion, more technical care (?)
- No platform has been chosen, it is not out of question to have a special version for the Wii (who will not be the main platfiorm so)
- The marketing for BGE2 will be more important than for the first one (he says BGE had marketing problems)
- No date :)

Man: I'd like to write a witty or distinguished comment, but all I can say is

OMG I WANT THAT GAME SO BAD

the first bg&e was so amazing! I havent played any new generation action adventure yet that was better.

Man, this is like my dream come true. After playing through BG&E, I was so disappointed when I found out that the planned sequels were being dropped.

Now it seems they're back, and much better than before! Hurray for Ubi!

Maybe this time they'll actually put Héral's brilliant score to disc. BG&E had one of the best soundtracks, wonder if he's returning for the sequel... I truly hope so.

I don't trust EA with gameplay controls. The last few EA games I've played have gone beyond simply making the controls challenging to making the most nitpicky, obnoxious control schemes since Pitfall: The Lost Expedition.

BG&E1 could have used a little more challenge in the fighting area, but if I've got to do a bunch of bizarre button-trigger combos just to send a zip disc into an Alpha Section green tank, I'm going to be pissed.

BG&E is that lonley game that sits atop my list of games I got rid of, despite loving it so much, that I kick myself constantly for doing so.

Stupid me!!! I even picked up at for dirt cheap cos it wasn't selling, loved the final battel with all the reversed controls.

:( sadly I feel this won't come to the Wii. I had been looking forward to making some bacon with that pig. Fleeting dreams, fleeting dreams.

That has to be the most realistic CGI pigman I have ever seen. If anything else, I can think Ubisoft and BG&E2 for giving me that.

I think this game is my "most anticipated"... right up there with Max Payne 3!

This first one was amazing. If you're reading this post and you haven't played the first one, you need to go play it, NOW.

But to those who have finished the first game (POSSIBLE BG&E SPOILERS) how will they fit in a sequel story-wise? I mean it makes sense to have a sequel but the ending was such a mystery--was Jade supposed to be an alien? Why did Paje turn into an alien? I'm hoping that's all addressed. And if anything, they should make the game harder this time.

Changing the combat wouldn't be a big deal.. it was ok, but nothing outstanding. Changing the zelda-style world and gameplay style wouldn't be a good idea.

On that note, a Wii-port of the first one would be great... the combat would probably work pretty well with the Wiimote, as would the camera.
