You like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil...? Not to seem insulting, but I do find that odd. I'd never even HEARD of Luke Cage pre-MUA1... didn't know anyone liked the Heroes for Hire crew much.

Bendis did a big overhaul of Luke Cage previous to his role in New Avengers, so he's been in the spotlight for several years now. Likewise Matt Fraction relaunched Iron Fist into a must-read story since the last game came out. These are characters (like the also-announced Songbird) that fans that actually follow modern Marvel comics and not just the movies would know about.

And hey, they put in Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel in the first one, so it's not like the practice of using non-mainstream characters is new to the series.

yeah, instead of being a 1 dimensional blacksplotation super hero who talks in stereotypes and whose catchphrase is "Sweet Christmas!", he is now actually a character with a lot of depth. Even more so for Iron Fist, ever since Brubaker and Fraction teamed up on the 2006 series, it became one of the most reads for a good couple years.

Yeah, I'll admit I haven't read a lot of the modern comics, aside from Exiles. I did pick up Civil War in anticipation for this game, but still neither character stands out much for me. Maybe I'll pick up their books sometime, give them a read.

Only 10 hours of gameplay? That's a stark contrast to the last game which featured nearly 30 hours of gameplay (at least that's how long it took my friends and I).

30 hours to complete the storyline? Ummm... If you're not counting the time spent leveling up on side quests/simulator missions, MUA wasn't NEARLY 30 hours long.

even with that it wasnt 30 hours, the only way I can see it would have been 30 hours was if you maxed out every single character

Maxing out every single character would've taken way longer than 30 hours.

But yeah, the story itself wasn't 30.

Im pretty sure it only sold well b/c it was one of 4 games (hyperbole) available at the time for Wii and PS3 launch and a wide target audience (teens and young adults like comic books and system launches)
I got both systems but never got it so i can't say much about the game. Didn't look horrible but would probably die in todays market. Lets hope the 3 years since the first games release means they put a lot of effort into it.

good point, not to knock the original or predict the sequel but those sales numbers are half luck and have strategy.

All those things may have helped boost the numbers, but in its defense, MUA was still a pretty decent game (at least it was for 360, I don't know about the other platforms.)

Only 2-player local co-op?? I hope that isn't true.

M:UA 1 remains one of the very few 4-player co-op games that my friends and I have really, really liked. They need to make more local 4-player co-op games, not less.

Either neuromancer fails at copy and paste or the article was altered.

I like the conversation thing, I cant wait to go through the entire game as deadpool and talk to everyone. If he's half as funny as he was in the first game this should be great. "I'm low on energy! But rich in vitamin C!" "I need health! And a pony!"

My friend and loved the first game. Somewhat lacking as far as single player games go, but once you get co-op going it is an entirely different experience. Unless they just totally fubar the game, this will be a day 1 purchase for me.

Maybe some of us here will have meet up and play some Joystiq co-op games? On which platform will everyone be getting this game? Last time my friends and I played on the 360 and likely will again this time.

I'll most likely be getting it on the 360 as well, mostly because no one else I know owns a PS3. I'd be down for some Joystiq co-op.

I actually thought it was a fantastic single player game, seriously. I love the characters, and was a HUGE fan of X-Men Legends 1/2, so that's probably why.

Cool. My XBLA tag is "Thraxen"... same on PSN if anyone is intersted.

Have they even given a solid date on this game yet? Still says "TBA 2009" over at IGN. Hope we get a firm date in the near future.

The first one was fun, the second one will be too. I'm wondering if the fusion is a useless or boring gimmick, or if it actually adds customization. How can you combine human torch and ice man though? anyways, we'll see when the game actually comes out (as always... sigh)

I know I'm probably alone in this but MUA seems like it should be xbox360 only. Like ps3=DC and xbox360=Marvel or something.

@Doug

It may well have been cutscenes but it looked to me like it was using the game engine as opposed to CGI. The last game the cutscenes were of PIXAR quality, and while the trailer there looked quite good, it wasn`t unbelievable.
