Just a quick note: Remember the Ostrich Hammer that was revealed on April Fools' Day for Red Faction: Guerrilla? Yeah, well it's real. We asked Volition if the ornithoid tool would actually be featured in the game. At the time, we were told that the team was waiting to see what the community's reaction would be. It seemed feasible, given that the developers had gone to the trouble to actually model it in the game.
It's more than feasible now, it's official. Volition has confirmed -- with new screenshots, no less -- that the Ostrich Hammer will be an unlockable in Red Faction: Guerrilla's multiplayer mode. On top of that, the devs are promising plenty of new info in the coming weeks regarding "more hammer unlocks, new modes" and changes made based on multiplayer beta feedback.
We suggest you spend the interim researching what other animals would make the best hammers

I'm not sure this is going to upset PETA, still you never know. They are an extremist organization.

"And then the gaming community wonders why video games isn't taken serious?"
Do you even speak English? First, "isn't" should be "aren't" and "serious" should be "seriously". Second, that's not a question (why do so many people have problems with question marks?) Third, the "then" doesn't make sense as it's not a follow up to a previous comment and is not required anyway.*
/grammar nazi
Anyway, this looks like great fun. Reminds me of TimeSplitters, which is never a bad thing :)
*P.S. If you are not a native English speaker then it's understandable, so sorry if you're not.

sarcasm:
1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2 a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual b: the use or language of sarcasm
Cause apparently some people dont seem to get it.
@ Alphathon - Heres some english for you...you ready...Your Mom's Box.
You need me to explain that to you there sonny boy? Maybe draw you a diagram there. Also correcting someones English does not make you look smart only pompous. :D So Say We All!

Sarcasm doesn't work on the internet, unless you're being *very* sarcastic.
There was no way to tell if you were being serious or not from your post, we can't tell what tone you're using. But it definitely didn't seem like a sarcastic remark, and you can't blame people for that.
And yes, correcting someones grammar/spelling online can be pretty pompous, but yours was particularly bad in that post and the negative remarks didn't help.

I agree with you. Not only will they not dick people around like EA does, but they treat their fans in a very correct way.
I was in the beta for Red Faction. It was such a pleasant experience, not just because it was a good and fun game. The developers really listened to the fans feedback and issues and let people know what was going on etc. etc.
Just the way Volitions handles their potential customers and fanbase was incredibly satisfying. The way they treated me and others at that beta is what convinced me to buy this game at day one.

@Dirty
I don't want to take away from your pun, but an " -ectomy" is the removal of something, usually during surgery. The prefix applies to what your removing, not how you're removing it.
Your "Ostrechtomy" would be removing his Ostrich.

I'm surprised no one thought of simply calling it "Flipping the Bird".
"Flip him the bird!"

THANK YOU!
You have sealed the transaction between my wallet and this game, just for the joy of smacking some dudes around with an ostrich.
Also, it's pretty much guaranteed that the game's sales will be up about 1000%
If only halo did things like this with their hammer...
