Sniper getting next TF2 class update, still working on 360 update
All of the monkeyshines which occurred this past April Fools' Day weren't completely without newsworthiness. For instance, Valve's April 1 update revealing the Sniper's newest (and fakest) armament -- weaponized jars of urine -- was a hint that the Sniper class would be the next Team Fortress 2 class to get the update treatment. In fact, Valve promises it will be the biggest update thus far, with new maps and gameplay tweaks. In addition, a second update, due to arrive before the Sniper pack, will add "some new content for all classes." Probably no jars of urine, though.
Also, if you're a member of the incensed mob of players of the (mostly) non-updated TF2 for the 360, the latest Valve update includes word that the developer is still working to bring new content to the console. So please, put down that torch and pitchfork. You'll put someone's eye out.

Is it more effective if you eat asparagus before playing?
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:58PM
Asparagus infused vegimite. Love Team Fort!
Negativecool @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:12PM
I think that only works if the Sniper is throwing containers full of jizz..."funky spunk" if you will.
That would be much more disgusting.

Bitches don't know 'bout his jenkem

How dang hard is it to bring this stuff to the 360, I am dying with anticipation.
ittybittygirl @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:37PM
I enjoy playing TF2 on the 360, what little I have at least, but it is definitely too late to patch all this content into The Orange Box. Maybe they could release TF2 on Arcade with the content as well, that would at least get people to play it. Last time I did, there were too few people on. Still, has one of the better communities of players on LIVE though - no incessant bickering and colorful commentary.
Magetto @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:45PM
The community may be small, but there's still enough people playing that you can get into matches. Valve really should get this update out as soon as possible, otherwise what's left the community is gonna move on.
ittybittygirl @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:51PM
Oh totally, they still need to update TOB TF2. If they want the content to fall on more people though, they need to find some other way to package and release the content though. Like Portal before it, TF2 on Arcade would be a great way to expand the audience, and could easily be made compatible with TOB's TF2 implementation (as long as it receives the update, and I hope it does ASAP)
Efren @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:11PM
How about you idiots actually read the article to find out why the 360 update isnt out yet?
"If you're wondering what's taking so long, since the content is "done" on the PC already, it's mostly been around fitting it all onto the XBox. The original version of TF2 in the Orange Box was very close to the XBox's memory limit, and all the additional TF2 content we've produced has pushed well beyond it. We've found a couple of nifty ways to get back a bunch of that memory, but it's turned out to be a lot of work, and that's what most of our time is being spent on."
MLS @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:18PM
I didn't even bother with TF2 on the Orange Box for more than 15 minutes. There was no single player training, tutorial, or even a game with bots for a beginner to learn the mechanics and characters. All I could do was join a random game and die within 25 seconds over and over again. Not fun.
ittybittygirl @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:24PM
Woah there Efren, calm down. No one was questioning why it was taking so long, I was merely suggesting alternative ways to release it. Prick.
Efren @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:39PM
ibg, wasn't directed at you, but rather the people that are piling on the replies that obviously had not read the article. Sorry for the confusion.
ittybittygirl @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:41PM
Sorry for calling you a prick, and thanks for making things shiny again.
Timerider @ Apr 3rd 2009 2:09PM
@MLS
Do your research. Read the manual. Watch Youtube videos. Ask the people you're playing with for help.
It's the best online game I've ever played.
Ibere @ Apr 3rd 2009 2:44PM
Of course you cannot compare it with Halo 3, for example, but I would say TF2 still have a quite big community, big enough to let me choose which map and server I want to play. This updates will benefit a lot of people. Of course it would be good to launch it just like they did Portal, on Live, so more people could play it, but one way or another, I still think TF2's community is quite good.
nick @ Apr 4th 2009 1:49AM
I'm a die hard TF2 player on the 360 and am on several days a week, but even I've given up hope of ever seeing an update for the console version. The time when it would be been great to have, has come and past. There are by no means any shortage of players any given night, but there does seem to be less than when I first started playing. Occassionally I'll be on where someone has messed with the environment settings, and I think I caught an alternate map once, but by in large it's been the same old same old for a LONG time now.
Rhamsey @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:37PM
"still working on 360"
by the time its done, tf2 is going to be dead on the 360, numbers are already low. and title update would boost them. i just hope that they are not waiting till all of the classes are done before doing the 360 patch.
cloud858rk @ Apr 3rd 2009 6:01PM
There is a title update, so you can no longer host modded severs. There probably gonna include other fixes with that; it'd be dumb not to. And they're definitely not going to wait for all 9 class updates, otherwise they wouldn't have said it taking so long because of fitting on the 360.
Brian @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:39PM
What is taking them so long on the 360 update? and why don't they support the game more?
Brian @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:40PM

Brian @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:41PM
Whoops sorry for the double post.
McWilly @ Apr 3rd 2009 12:45PM
They'll still be "working" on the 360 update right up until the last PC update. Then they'll just release it on 360 in one big update. Then the 10 people who still play the game by then will finally be happy....ish.
Curt @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:07PM
More people would get on and keep playing if they would finally just release the update, I haven't played it in forever either, and I used to play it all the time, but the moment that hits I will be going back to it.
rohan @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:04PM
and yet the PS3 version is still crap
Poisoned Al @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:29PM
That will never change.

All right, I'll admit, that was a bit of a stretch.

Wow, this one was quick! Crossing my fingers for a new video.
DaveMcRae @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:23PM
I'm I play it on the PC. The sniper always was my favorite class, so I'm looking forward to this.
DaveMcRae @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:24PM
The 360 is an amazing console, but for multiplayer (shooter) games, the PC is still the platform to go.

I want to believe this is true SOOOO much.
WiNG [XBL&Steam: WiNGSPANTT] from lifeinagame.com @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:36PM
Why Valve, why Sniper updates? Do we really need 8 snipers on each team?
I was hoping for a Spy update! Though I suppose playing Spy will never be as easy as it will be when this update hits.
Syke @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:47PM
The Spy's already gotten a bunch of mini-updates to tweak his playstyle.
Sniper deserves it more.
vgxtremist @ Apr 3rd 2009 1:47PM
I have a bunch of those jars waiting for the 360 update...
Timerider @ Apr 3rd 2009 2:13PM
I bet the petition had something to do with it. The Flashy Man sent it in on Monday.
HaT SaS @ Apr 3rd 2009 3:23PM
Hmmmmm, anyone reccomend buying this game now even though its 2 yrs old?? Looks like fun but debating whether its worth it.
MowDownJoe @ Apr 3rd 2009 3:43PM
The community for the PC version is still going strong! Avoid buying the Orange Box on 360, though...
cloud858rk @ Apr 3rd 2009 6:01PM
"Avoid it on 360"?
If you can't play it on PC, get it on 360. There are still plenty of people playing it, but as soon as the patch comes out for modding the better.
jarhead906 @ Apr 3rd 2009 3:25PM
Am I correct in believing that this is going to be 400 MP's? Hopefully there are new maps or something.
Temidien @ Apr 3rd 2009 3:52PM
I hope not, 400 Military Police (MP) would require a lot of Megabytes (MB)...
HaT SaS @ Apr 3rd 2009 4:07PM
So do they sell TF2 by itself on the 360 since thats what i would get it for?? It's gotta be almost $FREE.99 2 yrs later right? If its over $20 im wondering if its worth it!!!! Sell me on it people!!!!!!!!!!
wickedpheonix @ Apr 3rd 2009 8:20PM
just get it for your pc already...
