All of the monkeyshines which occurred this past April Fools' Day weren't completely without newsworthiness. For instance, Valve's April 1 update revealing the Sniper's newest (and fakest) armament -- weaponized jars of urine -- was a hint that the Sniper class would be the next Team Fortress 2 class to get the update treatment. In fact, Valve promises it will be the biggest update thus far, with new maps and gameplay tweaks. In addition, a second update, due to arrive before the Sniper pack, will add "some new content for all classes." Probably no jars of urine, though.
Also, if you're a member of the incensed mob of players of the (mostly) non-updated TF2 for the 360, the latest Valve update includes word that the developer is still working to bring new content to the console. So please, put down that torch and pitchfork. You'll put someone's eye out.

I think that only works if the Sniper is throwing containers full of jizz..."funky spunk" if you will.
That would be much more disgusting.

I enjoy playing TF2 on the 360, what little I have at least, but it is definitely too late to patch all this content into The Orange Box. Maybe they could release TF2 on Arcade with the content as well, that would at least get people to play it. Last time I did, there were too few people on. Still, has one of the better communities of players on LIVE though - no incessant bickering and colorful commentary.

Oh totally, they still need to update TOB TF2. If they want the content to fall on more people though, they need to find some other way to package and release the content though. Like Portal before it, TF2 on Arcade would be a great way to expand the audience, and could easily be made compatible with TOB's TF2 implementation (as long as it receives the update, and I hope it does ASAP)

How about you idiots actually read the article to find out why the 360 update isnt out yet?
"If you're wondering what's taking so long, since the content is "done" on the PC already, it's mostly been around fitting it all onto the XBox. The original version of TF2 in the Orange Box was very close to the XBox's memory limit, and all the additional TF2 content we've produced has pushed well beyond it. We've found a couple of nifty ways to get back a bunch of that memory, but it's turned out to be a lot of work, and that's what most of our time is being spent on."

I didn't even bother with TF2 on the Orange Box for more than 15 minutes. There was no single player training, tutorial, or even a game with bots for a beginner to learn the mechanics and characters. All I could do was join a random game and die within 25 seconds over and over again. Not fun.

Woah there Efren, calm down. No one was questioning why it was taking so long, I was merely suggesting alternative ways to release it. Prick.

ibg, wasn't directed at you, but rather the people that are piling on the replies that obviously had not read the article. Sorry for the confusion.

Of course you cannot compare it with Halo 3, for example, but I would say TF2 still have a quite big community, big enough to let me choose which map and server I want to play. This updates will benefit a lot of people. Of course it would be good to launch it just like they did Portal, on Live, so more people could play it, but one way or another, I still think TF2's community is quite good.

I'm a die hard TF2 player on the 360 and am on several days a week, but even I've given up hope of ever seeing an update for the console version. The time when it would be been great to have, has come and past. There are by no means any shortage of players any given night, but there does seem to be less than when I first started playing. Occassionally I'll be on where someone has messed with the environment settings, and I think I caught an alternate map once, but by in large it's been the same old same old for a LONG time now.

There is a title update, so you can no longer host modded severs. There probably gonna include other fixes with that; it'd be dumb not to. And they're definitely not going to wait for all 9 class updates, otherwise they wouldn't have said it taking so long because of fitting on the 360.

More people would get on and keep playing if they would finally just release the update, I haven't played it in forever either, and I used to play it all the time, but the moment that hits I will be going back to it.

All right, I'll admit, that was a bit of a stretch.

The 360 is an amazing console, but for multiplayer (shooter) games, the PC is still the platform to go.

Why Valve, why Sniper updates? Do we really need 8 snipers on each team?
I was hoping for a Spy update! Though I suppose playing Spy will never be as easy as it will be when this update hits.

The Spy's already gotten a bunch of mini-updates to tweak his playstyle.
Sniper deserves it more.

The community for the PC version is still going strong! Avoid buying the Orange Box on 360, though...

"Avoid it on 360"?
If you can't play it on PC, get it on 360. There are still plenty of people playing it, but as soon as the patch comes out for modding the better.

Am I correct in believing that this is going to be 400 MP's? Hopefully there are new maps or something.
