A GoNintendo reader by the name of Maxemillian_X recently snapped a picture of an upcoming release list from an Amsterdam-based gaming retailer which reveals two interesting pieces of Wii news. The first (and somewhat more reasonable) item is a supposed July 10 release date for the Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus bundle, as well as the standalone MotionPlus peripheral.
The second eye catching release date on the list is for Wii Fit Plus, which is apparently due out November 19, giving us plenty of time to find out what the hell it is. Given the pictured release list's dubious origins (we don't know what store it came from), we're taking it with a healthy dose of trepidation. Still, a summer release for Wii Sports Resort and a follow up to Nintendo's exergaming cash cow don't seem beyond the realm of possibilities.

In case anyone wonders, "benelux" stands for the three countries Belgium Netherlands and Luxembourg, three small, mostly french speaking countries in middle europe.

"Mostly French"? All of The Netherlands and the top part of Belgium(Flanders) speaks Dutch and has it as their official language, covering about 22 million people or 82% of the Benelux population.

I wonder if they can patch existing games to work with motion plus.
Even if they could, they'd probably just release a whole new version of the game. :/

They can't, that much was confirmed in some interview that I'm just too damned lazy to pull up right now. Scour GoNintendo if you want to find it.
July? We should've had something like this in our hands a year ago. It could've worked as a way to get prospective developers to begin making games (that aren't targeted towards my nephew or morons with $50 to drop and not enough sense to buy games based on anything but the box art). The fact that we're gonna have to wait till June for a peripheral that'll likely only get decent support from Nintendo (like two years from now) anyway... that's pretty lame.
"Wii Fit Plus"? If that actually exists... it's pretty lame that that's where development resources are going. Not saying that them making that game'll keep 'em from making games that I'll enjoy, but it'd be nice if they could at the very least throw us a fuckin' bone here rather than continuing to pump out this stuff while at the same time claiming "Hey, don't worry, we're here for ya, gamer guy!".

I've figured this one out, Fatass. Your whole problem with them is the secrecy. You would feel better if they confirmed whatever it is they actually have in development, rather than waiting until when they feel the time is right.
You're smarter than knowing that any resources are being diverted from core games to make these games. Come on, man.

There's money in it, if the success of the first Wii Fit was any indicator.
More money in it than a proper F-Zero or Starfox sequel. *sigh* At least with any luck we might see New Play F-Zero GX announced by the end of next year, right?
Yeah, I know I'm exaggerating. I've just been pretty disappointed with Ninty lately.

Hate to say it but I would buy an enhanced F-Zero GX for Wii. Sorry that game is like crack and I will take it in any form.

You're telling me. I just got a copy of F-Zero GX in the mail a few days back, freaking love that game (even though it's corrupted every last GC memory card I've ever had at least once)

Yeah, this is a problem exclusive to Nintendo. Unless you count the iPod, Windows, PSP models and every other single electronics-based product in existence, that is.

You know why Nintendo sinks money into shit like this? Because jerk-off, everyday, consumer assholes don't buy Mad World or Okami. That's why. So we can bitch all we want but until people get some actual critical sense we'll still see shit like the Saw movies and Fast and Furious in the theaters; we'll still have singers like Miley Cyrus and One Republic selling tons of records; we'll still have unadulterated crap like American Idol and The Hills on TV; and, yeah, we'll still have to put up with games we don't like. So don't blame Nintendo. This is our fault.

My genocide solution still stands. Either that or some form of radical terrorism.
Maybe blow up a few hundred attendees at a Miley concert to get our point across? The Armed Cultural Elitists Front need to start acting, before our world gets destroyed.

Don't be too quick with the sarcasm tags there, Mr. Khan. ACEF is a pretty kick ass acronym...

Do us fans advertise these games to other people?
For all I know, I'm the only one advertising "core games" to other folks - even the casuals.
... people complain about advertising being awful with all the games that dropped the ball in sales, but really - if they realllllyyyyy wanted the game to sell well they should try to help advertising with the tried-and-true-method-of-advertising: WORD OF MOUTH.
That worked in the past, and it sure as hell works now. I've convinced at least 10 people to buy my favorite games. Obviously 10 isn't enough to bring up sales that high, but it would be if EVERYONE WHO COMPLAINED at least tried it once.

I agree SoshiKitai. Normally when I'm in Target or GameStop some mom will invariably ask me which game they should buy their kids. I'm pretty sure I've made a few Christmas and birthday presents better than they would have been.

Every morning I wake up and play Wii fit then Wii boxing and then Mad World. I don't consider myself a patsy. We're a society of pushovers. We consume anything we're fed and dont complain. The media has desensitized us and we're quite alight with mediocrity as a society, and even the quality of the mediocrity is deteriorating but its just little by little. Soon we will have telescreens in our homes and be forced to listen to the jonahs brothers and daughtry 24/7.

I find this one dubious. Simply because it lists both Nintendo games and 3rd party games, but suddenly stops listing 3rd party games after June. Games that we know are coming, too. Stuff like EA's Grand Slam Tennis. Then the way it jumps right from July to one, single game in September, then onward to November, with no mention of anything in-between?
Something's up, regardless of the date upon which this was actually unearthed.

I'm guessing fake: all of the games start with "Wii"; for example, "Wii Ghostbusters", like it's it's own column. But then, the titles for "Wii Sports" and "Wii Fit" don't use it twice; implying that the titles are listed as "Fit Plus" and "Sports 2", which seems pretty unlikely. That and the aforementioned dates seeming suspicious.
That said, I'm sure Nintendo is working on Wii Fit 2. I mean, why the hell shouldn't they? The Balance Board is an interesting piece of technology, and the software has tons of room for improvement. They obviously not only turned a software on the game itself, but by selling Wii consoles that people were buying for it.

So if the Motion Plus comes out on July 10th, and Tiger Woods 10 comes out June 16, how is that gonna work out? Tiger 10 is making me most likely buy a Wii in mid June. Sucks I gotta drop $400 on the Wii. The Wii, motion plus, the game, rechargeable battery pack. Hopefully, but I doubt it cause Nintendo loves money, but I hope they include built in Motion Plus Wiimotes in all Wiis so I dont have to buy the motion plus attachment

rechargeable battery pack bad idea. they dont last that long and its almost impossible to make sure the connection is maintained while they charge. a better investment would be a four pack of single rechargeable batteries and a charger.
