this song is worth playing through the nut punchingly painful hard mode. The best part is, its not the cheap kind of hard, its the "Oh, you think you're good at this game? WELL GUESS THE FUCK WHAT! *you die, in the tutorial, losing your only life* WHATS MY NAME BITCH?" kind of hard. Like Mega Man 9 if Mega Man 9 was made by masochists.

It was tremendously stupid and not at all remotely amusing. Seriously how did that make it into the final cut?

Also, I've got to go out of my way to give a big thumbs down to everybody who decided to throw away a vote on that shitty PA comic last week that just recycled a worn out bit and decided to not be remotely original.

WiTF for me here! WOOT! Loved it, especially the goofy bath scene ones, and especially since Waluigi and I feel the same way about Mondrian! Almost seems kinda like cheating though that their 'one' comic was actually a huge pile of em :)

I tip my hat to Another Videogame Comic, being that I unfortunately have a girlfriend who loves that show.

And my Dipswitch pal, you continue to be a little too out there, just for the sake of being out there, for my tastes. A burn victim's crotch? 3 wangs? Mmmmmmkay.

Waluigi definitely. I haven't laughed like that since i first watched the "Powerthirst" video. Fucking genius.

Though Stuff 2 Read was good.

And though i am in no way, shape, or form a Sony fanboy (having never owned a PlayStation helps), i felt rather offended by Penny Arcade all the same.

Its like they forgot how to stat quoting semi douches just in time to hate on Sony. A lot of PS3 owners dont have a Bluetooth headset so they decided to help the majority instead of catering to the minority.

Though I gotta admit, that last line was funny.

Eh, Sonys in a "damned if you do, damned if you do" situation right now. Headsets are cheap but not free so no one is buying them. They try bundling the headsets, once again, no one is buying them. And for some reason some people requested chat room functionality and they added it. But of course 2.70 did not bring with it the lofty expectations of "magically align the triad and bring about gaming bliss" so it's worthless and worthy of being shat on. Typical reaction. It will be funny to see how that strip sets the fantards in defense mode though.

I didn't vote for PA just because I didn't find it funny. Times are changing though. It's not winning when all you needed to do as a webcomic to win this bitch was the following format.

Person A makes comment about Sony
Person B bashes Sony
Person A says something to make anyone who likes Sony look like a general idiot.

Well the solution to that is they release a firmware update with voice and text chat. No need to come to Sony's defense on this one, they're dragging their heels. It's the people that drink the kool-aid and think that text chat in 2009 is somehow amazing and not a pathetic substitute for voice chat that are keeping the rest of us out of good features for longer.

@ Sheppy

PS3 was the subject of a lot of hate in the past, but don't forget the first year that warranted much of that hate. Now, Sony has taken over the internet with a pervasive sympathy. Where are the Sony haters? They are in the minority now, stop making mountains out of molehills. Also stop changing history and pretending a $600 console with practically no support for a year, a Playstation (the one that had throngs of developer support without even trying simply because of PS2), going up against a 360 that's been out for a year was anything less than deserving focus of ridicule. People throw around comments like the majority of 360 owners are violently rude children or frat boy idiots, and Wii owners are weak-minded fools and everyone eats it up pretending the PS3 is the console of the yacht club or the bourgeoisie. I also find it convenient that the internet has suddenly had a change of heart as to the possibility that a console that isn't outselling all others can be successful once everyone could no longer pretend that the PS3 was on the verge of exploding. Subtle things that suggest many Sony fanboys have taken a different tack now they can't drum their chests like they were during the PS1 and PS2 eras.

I was just using the chat feature a minute ago. It's nifty, and I'm glad they included it. It beats sending each other messages.

Would definately have prefered voice chat (even though I don't yet have a headset), but this'll do for now.

@Mister Bogus

It's irrelevant if people are annoying etc. for the sake of invite-only voice chat. It's for friends mostly, and there's no reason to deny people with headsets the ability to actually chat with friends.

So now the morons on PSN are "xlive dipshits" too? That's ridiculous.

Moptimus... I was annoyed. The DS commercials went from some child pop star stroking her puppy to Lisa Kudrow pretending she's still relevant, to a couple douchenozzles doing the rough equivelant of "dude, I'm so drunk right now" style bromance frattard bullshit. Part of me is annoyed that the last commercial Nintendo has made for my demographic was a bunch of cool stuff flying out of some guys GBA SP. The other part of me is annoyed that THIS commercial was considered a good "reaching out" to the core gamers. Really? Has Beyonce's DS commercial really lowered the bar that much? "This features men instead of pop culture attention grabbers... obviously THIS is the commercial for gamers."

@David
Funny, the only people I see mentioning the chat room feature, aside from when it was announced, has been the people bashing it. But regardless, hopefully I can put this in some wonderful way that makes you understand.

Microsoft is a US company where the internet and communication through with is very important. Only in the US could LiveJournal, MySpace, and Facebook rise to astronomical levels. As a US company, Microsoft knew the importance of communication and so dedicated part of it's hardware and OS solely to those communication features despite Xbox Live being massively overlooked last generation.

Sony is a Japanese company. As such, internet gaming is largely a mystery. And since it was used sooo rarely last generation on PS2, Sony had no clue it would be the major feature people are looking at this generation. While this is all ran in the space dedicated solely to the US, keep in mind it's not expansive. In other words, for every feature Sony adds to the OS that can run in game, that means they had to optimize the hell out of the OS that runs in the background. As a Japanese company, we see this blundering misunderstanding of online ALL THE TIME. Take, as an example, Nintendo's Friend Codes. Is that really to protect children or really just a vast misunderstanding on what an online community wants? Likewise, take a look at MGS Online. How you need three different IDs for that game. Or even, hell, how the Japanese companies have been treating DLC in their plans. All of Japan is YEARS behind on this concept of internet gaming and Sony is no different. MAYBE next generation they'll have this built into the OS to be heavily expandable but for now, Sony is going to be operating at a severe handicap in this regard. Blame it on Sony's arrogance or just a cultural misunderstanding of the world as a whole. Either way, on PS3, you're not paying $50 a year to fund their research and development or bandwidth costs.

So every little feature is free to use or ignore as you see fit. But BITCHING about added features is possibly the dumbest thing anyone can every do. It's like if someone walks up and gives you free ice cream and your reaction is "what the fuck? No sprinkles? What is this, 1893?"

I'm a PS fanboy. In fact, I'm a Sony fanboy, in general. Connected to my Sony LCD teevee is a PS3, Sony DVD player, and a Sony stereo system.

So, speaking as a Sony fanboy, the text chat thing is retarded. If voice chat is not a possibility on the system, like a lot of people are speculating, they really need to come out and just say "Look, it's not happening. We're very very sorry, but we just can't make it work. Here's this text chat thing. I know it's a technology that's been a bit outdated for a decade or so now, but it's the best we can do."

At least then we'd all know it's not coming, and us fanboys can start defending it's exclusion. "At least it's free. And I don't have to send it in for repairs every few months," sort of thing.

It doesn't matter what option I vote for, in the end, it's all about voicing my opinion. Also, it's pretty fun to vote in these polls, just like the daily GFaqs ones.

Nowdays though, this One usually checks the poll's options in order To go for the one with the most votes. i'm such a cheater.

One thing's for sure though. If there is something I am never going to vote for is for the local candidates for presidency, seeing how uncredible they are, and pretty much anything they promise ends up in the fact that they lied so that they can steal the money from us civilians hands. Mexico's candidates, however, are another thing. I'm happy to see that Calderon's doing a good job getting rid of organized crime...

I voted for the Waluigi sequence, it really is quite brilliant viewed as a whole.

I haven't been paying a lot of attention, but by adding "16 player text messaging" isn't Sony just trying to check another box against the 360? 360 has full MSN messenger support, so that's like, infinite player text messaging or something...

Only Sony chose to roll it out as it's own thing instead of building it into a huge update. Seems like their approach is the problem.
