Fable 2's 'See the Future' DLC coming in May
It's a morning just like any other, save for one joyous difference. You stumble out of bed, groggy and mildly alarmed by the monstrous shape your hair assumed during the night. A sip of coffee does little to bring your brain out of its fatigue nebula, with a glance at the calendar reminding you that ... wait a minute. It's May! The new Fable II downloadable add-on, "See the Future," is supposed to be out this month!
You quickly don your Bananas in Pajamas dressing gown and rush into the living room, shouting, "Wake up! Wake up you piece of slumbering silicon!" at the Xbox 360. Oh, you simply can't wait to download the new content, which marks the return of Murgo the Trader and the beginning of a new quest to lift a trio of curses placed on mysterious items. What wondrous new wares await you? What new breed will you choose for your post-potion pet? What good (or evil?) will you get up to with new costumes (including a Hobbe outfit!), hairstyles and "psycho Jester make-up?"
Oh, but you're getting carried away. There's still the 560
($7) charge to pay before you can chase after the "Ghosts of the Snowglobe," save "The Cursed Knight" from his fate or bludgeon everything to a pulp in "The Colosseum." Of course, there are some free items offered to Fable II players (like "Welley's soldier helmet"), but only the premium pack offers ... oh. It's not online today.
You suddenly remember that Joystiq failed to mention what day in May the DLC would arrive. Those incompetent, unreliable bastards.

Is Murgo the Trader the goofy guy at the beginning with the speech impediment? If so, I love that guy!
victorinvictus @ Apr 6th 2009 11:47AM
Murgo is the guy from the beginning. :) Should be great to see what trinkets he has in store for us this time.

"Bananas in Pajamas are coming down the stairs..."
How I hated that show with every ounce of my body

Blasphemy!
baby sea tuna @ Apr 6th 2009 11:28AM
Uh..."Psycho jester outfit"?
Does this perchance come with a flagon of Faygo?
LegendaryRedass @ Apr 6th 2009 11:33AM
I sure hope so, my fellow juggalo.
BlaqueBeird @ Apr 6th 2009 11:38AM
It's only make-up, not a whole outfit.
The Dark Wayne @ Apr 6th 2009 12:43PM
considering it's makeup, and one of the quests is called "The Cursed Knight" i was thinking it was more a reference to The Joker rather than insane clown posse, I mean, is ICP really big in England?
baby sea tuna @ Apr 6th 2009 1:03PM
*sigh*
I made a joke and nobody got it. Story of my life...
MDRL @ Apr 6th 2009 11:30AM
You know, ordinarily I don't mind the point system MS uses, but 560? That's almost the most obnoxious price they possibly could have chosen.
Erluti @ Apr 6th 2009 11:42AM
Yeah, I know... 800 is a more round number. And 1600 would be equal to a whole points card! Then I wouldn't have any change at all to use on anything else!
Twist @ Apr 6th 2009 11:58AM
Actually for me this is perfect because I have 160 points that have been left hanging after some other odd priced downloads. I will finally be able to get back to having a multiple of 400 points. Still think they should make it to where we can go online and buy 800 points + an arbitrary amount on top of that. Or better yet we should just be able to use our credit/debit cards to just buy the damn items without using a stupid points system.
Markez @ Apr 6th 2009 12:20PM
Anyone care to chime in on the best place to get a cheap deal on MS points right now?
I need to buy the following DLC right now and need some points - GTAIV, Scene-It, Fallout 3
And apparently I'll be needing some for this soon as well as the SR2 DLC.
Saria the Cat @ Apr 6th 2009 12:23PM
I find it utter crap that I always have to purchase more MS points than I need because they only sell those specific denominations. It really is just a scheme to get people to always have point surpluses or buy more than they need.
Dr. Stabbingworth @ Apr 6th 2009 1:43PM
@Saria
While I totally agree with you, at least in a points-based system you can have sales on the points. If it was a money-based system, you can't really have a sale on money; i.e., how do you discount $20 as opposed to 1600 points?
If you have a money-based system, then you must rely on the distributor to have sales on the games. In the points-based system, you can have either sales on the games or sales on the points. This is how, in essence, I only paid $7.50 for Castle Crashers.
Saria the Cat @ Apr 6th 2009 4:23PM
@Dr. Stabbingworth: I'd totally be down for there to just be sales on XBLA games period without the point system. For example, Castle Crashers just selling for $7.50 as a sale item, no points involved.
Riley @ Apr 6th 2009 11:40PM
yeah, but this way, when they have a sale, it's effectively a sale for everything, not just a specific game or download that you might not want or already have
LordChimp @ Apr 6th 2009 11:32AM
I am just about to finish Fable II and I love the game. Not quite as much as the first but I know once I finish the game, I will want to play more and this DLC is coming out at a good time for me.
baby sea tuna @ Apr 6th 2009 11:42AM
The good thing is, there are other quests on the disc, that you can do once you've finished with the main game (including one that you *have to* finish the main quest to activate.)
Snowblind @ Apr 6th 2009 11:50AM
560 points is a much more reasonable price, assuming this is similar in size to Knothole Island, which was great, just not quite worth the 800. Things like Operation Anchorage and the Pitt also should have been priced like this.
ToRo @ Apr 6th 2009 11:54AM
This post is full of win.
prence @ Apr 6th 2009 12:01PM
As long as it's bigger than the first DLC :\ I feel slightly ripped off. Despite all the blogs saying it was a good 3-4 hours of additional content, I was done in 40 mins.
Markez @ Apr 6th 2009 12:18PM

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
Knight Marquise @ Apr 6th 2009 12:23PM
Sweet. More Fable II goodness.
Saria the Cat @ Apr 6th 2009 12:25PM
Darn you, Ludwig, you tricksy fiend!
The Dark Wayne @ Apr 6th 2009 12:35PM
I sorta remember reading somewhere , maybe here, that this DLC was going to have a bigger relation to the character from Fable 1, is that true or was that maybe another DLC pack?
Riley @ Apr 6th 2009 11:42PM
yeah, Theresa, and I remember hearing that too
I really hope they include it
rov947 @ Apr 6th 2009 1:07PM
Maybe they should release a patch to fix the patch that froze my game and corrupted my save file first....
rov947 @ Apr 8th 2009 10:30AM
And it get voted down for expressing my frustration at losing 12 hours of playing time....
BigD145 @ Apr 6th 2009 1:44PM
Nickled and dimed.
Markez @ Apr 6th 2009 2:23PM
Extra content not available at launch, developer continuing to support what I thought was a very enjoyable game, a measly 7 beans... Are you saying this should be free? I don't view it as being nickled and dimed, that seems to imply we're getting scammed or ripped off with this.
BigD145 @ Apr 6th 2009 2:51PM
7 bones for new clothes. If I want clothes for 7 bones, I'll go to my local Goodwill.
There are developers that give away new content one or two years down the road from release day.
Markez @ Apr 6th 2009 3:05PM
This isn't just new clothes.
Ghen @ Apr 6th 2009 4:35PM
BigD is correct. We used to get content packages for free on the PC as a developer's way of saying thank you to the fans. Just because we've moved to consoles doesn't mean they can't take care of customers after launch anymore without some extra $$.
How quickly the people forget.
Snowblind @ Apr 6th 2009 5:15PM
PC expansion packs have always cost money as well. I can think of very few exceptions. This is new quests, new items and more story for £5. Even Knothole Island added in more content than the average PC expansion.
If you don't want more content, then don't buy it. It's not like this is content that was cut from the final release to make us pay later.
Vegnagun bwf @ Apr 6th 2009 1:49PM
So ridiculously excited. Knothole Island hit the spot and gave me a great set of armor to roll around in. This DLC looks to be significantly better, though. Here's to hoping!
Ghen @ Apr 6th 2009 4:33PM
*reads the post and smiles* Must be Ludwig *checks the author* Yep.
