What the hell took so long? Shiggy should be the first person considered for any vidreo game related award. Say what you will about Nintendo, but Shigeru Miyamoto is a living legend.

Jeff Minter hasn't got this HOF award, and he made Llamatron. Nothing beats Llamatron.

Wait... Don Mattrick gets one first? I didn't know him until I looked him up, he's apparently the creator of EA Canada (which was another company before it was bought by EA).

So, the president of a subset of EA that happens to be in Canada gets a lifetime achievement award from a Canadian award ceremony before Miyamoto. I don't care where you come from, there are a handful of people you could try (and fail) to consider more important than Miyamoto but Don Mattrick is not one of them.

He also ascended to the top and has a major job with Microsoft now.

Factchecking is a good thing.

Matter of fact, it was Don Mattrick who presented the NXE to us.

That award is visually quite lame.
