Works fine for me.

Make sure you've got decent light - the DSi camera goes into "crap" mode if it's dim.

I played in a kitchen with a south-facing window in the middle of the day, no artificial light.

It works if you have a lamp or other bright light directly behind you.

It worked fine for me at home, but would not work in an office building. I think the fluorescent overhead lighting makes it difficult for the DSi to differentiate between the subject and the background. Does it work better for anyone else, when you are in a room where there is more light shining on your face than on the walls/ceiling behind you?

Knowing Nintendo, they'll have the patch ready by the end of the day. They work quick on those PR face saving things.

Also, maybe the game is self aware. If it's telling you to kill yourself, put it down right away!

I managed to play it after trying every room in my house and finding that the kitchen worked best. Weird.

Anyway, they call this a WarioWare game? There's only 20 microgames! You play through them in groups of 5 in the same order every time. This is nothing but a tech demo and should be free.

This reminds me of the troubles that I had with the original eyetoy for PS2. I would have to turn the lights on even if I had the windows open in the daytime to get enough light to disinguish me from the background.

A good test of this on the DSi is to go to the camera and take a picture, then go to the color editing tool. When you tap, say for instance your shirt, anything in the picture that's the color of your shirt changes color with your shirt.

I've also noticed that the brightness in the pics that come out on the DSi remind me of what my image looked like on the PS2 via the eye toy.

I don't have the Wario Wario Snapped game, but it may be as simple (and as annoying) to just turn a bunch of lights on.

It is, you are correct, sir. You just need an insane amount of light to play it. I even found that wearing a dark shirt helps to differentiate between your skin, clothes, and background.

I had no problem at all. I played at white background and at blue background that looks like the background of joystiq.

I dont think the European version has any deferences from the US.

Try it with the lights off, but with an ambient light source in the room, maybe?

I have a dream, in which future DSi camera games will not judge people by the color of their skin but by the content of their gaming skills!

It's all about the amount of light you have on your face. In an ideal environment, the person should stand out from ALL of the background, not just what is directly behind them. I find that if I turn on a light behind or above or right next to the DSi on the table I have no problems. Perhaps it's my work background--lighting video, but I've had precious few problems getting it to register my silhouette, only when there is a ton of light washing out the picture behind me.

I can only get it to work reliably when there is a good ceiling light and there is lots of stuff (bookcases, etc.) in the background. I guess I'm also too pasty to distinguish from a white wall.

Hmm. Have you tried playing it in the morning? Last night I bought it, trying it out with no success, but today, I have had a lot of fun with it. :)

I also had difficulties playing it at first, then I went and sat by the window where the system said I had good light. Even then it said I didn't have enough contrast (there was a white wall behind me and I have a very fair complexion. I ended up having to push my dsi away from me on the table and finally it let me play. While it was frustrating to get going-- once you figure out a place/lighting area to play it is really fun! I find the game to be hysterical now that I've cracked the code to the lighting/contrast issue.

I downloaded it day one with a chunk of my free points and played it in a well lit room like it asked had no issue what so ever. Some of the games seem to have issues like the one where you have to bite the food, but overall its very funny.
