Agreed. I don't think any self respecting PS3 owner will give a poop if this passes them by.

...mmm..disagree. I like to play my Playstation 3 more than my Xbox...for whatever reason. I had the original Lost Planet on 360 and thought it was quite good. Dunno about the PS3 port...maybe it was crappy in comparison. But Lost Planet's MP was fun as hell and unique. I'd be a very happy PS3 owner if they made it for the PS3 as well. I didn't even play the singleplayer cuz the MP was so fun.

Jumping into mech suits and being able to transform them into tank-like vehicles and stuff was awesome. I loved how you could rip the guns off the mechs as well and run around with them. I love how unique, fun MP games like this get bashed and people are happy with the same old boring sh*t.

Only bad thing was the game suffered lag. Like so many other games. Shoot an enemy and he doesn't die for like 5 seconds. Delayed death. Yet in that time he can still kill you....

I wouldn't go so far as to say it sucked. It was frustrating at times, but it was a pretty nice game in general. Also, it had like 2 million in sales didn't it?

I was really puzzled for a second why KZ2 was brought up, but I get it now. Regardless, I never understood the Lost Planet hate. I loved the first game. It was the perfect example of a game that is just fun pure action. Boss battles were great too. I never played the 360 version, but the ps3 port didn't have crippling frame rate loss like people claim, and the multiplayer worked just fine and was fun. Very underrated game imo.

I personally did not like the first one. It seemed like it was close to being very good, but some of the problems just killed it for me. For example, the infamous juggling. Lame and frustrating. I also hated the auto-aim. Way too aggressive. I remember at one point trying to aim at some barrels to blow them up, but the auto aim kept snapping the reticle to an enemy standing next to it... not what I wanted. Was there an option to turn it off? I don't recall, but I didn't bother playing long enough to find out. The game turned me off pretty quick.

Agreed, the game looks like a late Xbox game not Xbox 360 game. I think they are avoiding the PS3 because the quality of the graphics are to low. It's crap I could respectively get it as is. I can't believe they didn't increase it when they switched it to PS3.

...ummm...give me a break...Lost Planet looked great graphically. Wtf are you talking about. It has some very nice motion blur and lighting and explosions and such.

Not every game can look like Crysis....

You want to see horrible graphics in a game. Go rent the new Godfather 2 game like I did. Yikes it looks bad.

Really? Killzone 2 is a pretty good damn game, I enjoyed every bit of it and the Multiplayer rocks.

I don't remember the quality of graphics being an issue with the first one. Are you thinking of a different game tafuub or just making up a complaint?

Vidikron, what is the juggling you speak of? I honestly dunno what that is. It's been like a year or so since I've played it, but I don't remember auto aim. Maybe there was auto aim for the smaller enemies, but I really don't remember it. Could also have been changed for the PS3 port.

It's a shame you got turned off so quickly though... It's not the blockbuster style game that Gears or Killzone is, it's just a solid action title. I actually think that not all games should be blockbuster style; we need simple level-to-level games like this too. The game is just fun to play through, and some of those boss battles were near frustration level hard. I can see why many people would think it's mediocre, but I dunno. I liked it.

I've heard plenty of the game's shortcomings, but a good number of people really dug the 1st one. I really loved Kane & Lynch, but there were tons of people coming out of the woodwork to say how awful it was.

pretty much. Most games you get achievements right off the bat even when you don't try to get them. I don't try for any achievements/trophies but I get at least 50% of them from jsut playing the game.

i dont think its a weaker GPU, developers have done amazing stuff, then other suck and blame it on something.
some Developers who did well said the SPU system works so much better or weren't able to do this on other systems (KZ2 LBP, flower, Uncharted) Also the uncharted guys did it all (AMAZINGLY) w/o HDD install or Load screens.

Its all possible, just compare early PS2 games to late ones where devs really figure things out or push the power to the limit.

I agree, I like games and just want to game, but you have to be very careful on what you support. Microsoft and EA and notorious for undercutting the compeition with huge buyouts, now in practice this makes perfect business sense, but as a gamer it is terrible for the market and slowly deteriorates game quality. Now, as consumers if you truly love games then you need to start supporting titles that don't invovlve Microsfot or EA. Well, EA I do like to an extent, when they release a Fight Night, they come in proper intervals, but games like Fifa barely had an upgrades until PES came into the picture, now that is perfect compeition imo, but what does EA do, they acquire the licenese, now PES suffers because it just doesn't have all the characters and now you feel like you're playing a dumb downed verison of footy, way to go EA. Microsoft, payout Bethesda for Fallout 3 and now PS3 owners get shafters, wtf is that? Same with GTA. Yet we all know PS3 is by far superior than 360 once the programming is done right. 360 at launch, a failure releasing so many faulty machines, why because they wanted the money but yet 360 users don't get upset, I mean if this was a car or something, you'd pay a bit more attention, I hate corporate greed, and Capcom not delivering to all consoles is a joke, look at what they did with RE5 versus pack, it was on the disc all along and now you have to pay $5 to get it, lol what a joke,

1)If i dont like, i dont buy it, i actually try to stay away from EA, Skate was something i liked(but didn't buy), but i did get Rock band 1&2 as gifts

2)if they're paying them for somethign, whatever, its stupid but they obviously aren't getting my money and i dont like the 360 for it and have another reason why i dont want one.
if its really worth it for MS and the company, then its business and we get shafted.
Othertimes its just the company doing business (FF13 in america, Valkyrie only on ps3)
They just make more sense business wise and i can't blame them for it.

3)sometimes its not always the case. Im not sure if RE5 did just 'lock out a feature and charge extra for a key' or not. They say it was a diff dept, diff budget, the small size of the download doesn't prove it, it could have been set up in a previous update, or since its all in game stuff, it is just that small.

as consumers, buying is our only real power. I just want to play good games, if i have to wait or not get something because i dont have a MS console, Then thats my choice.

I think we agree on many things, the only downside is fallout 3 for example. i didn't even bother renting it b/c i heard it got shafted, and i'll just end up never playing the game, im ok with that BUT does bethsada see low ps3 sales b/c they did that? or do they just see low sales and justify their shafting so they'll keep doing it.

This is not the kind of game i like to play, Companies should concentrate on making games and/or systems not trickery. Have the better prevail.

To summarize my point, the topic is LP2 might not come to Ps3, where i disagree since i "think it is" eventually.
Yet who ever feels the need to add in my xbox/ps3 has "x" amount of games and "y" amount of exclusives, so thats "all i need" will get a downvote from me. Wtf does that have to do with Lost Planet...Part One or 2 and/or it being delayed or unreleased at all on the Ps3?

i didn't say it but my implementation was that i didn't like the first game so theres another that might be MS exclusive that i dont care about.

And i only listed 3 for simplicity and picked titles most people would know regardless of their console of choice.
Eden and Monsters are 2 great games i play all the time but are PSN exclusive and idk if that counts for you or if you've heard of them if you dont own a PS3.
I also enjoyed Heavenly sword (as a GoW2.5), I love Little big Planet and play it regularly, I just thought if i just listed all the exclusives you'd yell at me for that.

Im buying GoW3 no matter what, im sure im not the only person to ever do this, i never said i had it or it was great just that I wanted it.

If somehow uncharted 2 was a MS exclusive then i'd change my tune, and it might happen one day. My roomate at college had an xbox and 360 but i didn't care for anything on it. so i got a ps3 and i like it, i play 360 w/ my GF's Brother but still haven't seen anything im missing yet in my opinion. (he doesn't have braid but i hear good things)

I wish it'd all go away but i dont have to defend my console. Im happy w/ my purchase. I really dont play Online so maybe thats also why i dont care when people say MS is better online.

I too have been down this road too often.
This is a topic about game and 360 vs PS3 but i should know mentioning just one of the consoles is an invite for a flame war.
Its nice to have conversations with intelligent people about a topic you enjoy, especially if you're not into football or american idol and that makes me a terrorist.

For all i know LP2 will be a 360 exclusive and i'll love it and hate GoW3. I hope not but my luck streak will run out sooner or later.

Having said that, the stupid comments usually incite hilarious insults from the smarter members of Joystiq, so it's win-win really.

Back to Eric's point about the DLC being bought up:

First of all, it all seems a bit overpriced for what it is (I'm talking about Fallout 3 and especially GTA which is still a lame bare bones GTA after the dlc) and

Second of all, if MS wanted to shovel loads of money to developers for exclusive DLC it's their own stupid fault and it's going to bight them in the ass in the end. I don't know anyone who bought a 360 because of exclusive DLC. To tell you the truth, most of the people I know who have a 360 are either kids who didn't want to wait and see what the competition made (terrible if MS really pushed it onto shelves knowing about the rrod; shows that they can make electronic bricks sell if theirs is the first) and the others are guys with sdtvs who didn't want to spend more than 200 on a machine and they don't even subscribe to online much less buy dlc.

In short the kind of gamers who buy DLC are the same kind of gamers who buy the first next-gen machine that hits the shelves so if they did pay tons for exclusive dlc, it was money wasted.

That said, after playing much of the DLC for Fallout 3 and the pack for GTA, you're not missing much.
