I also want to know more about this but the real question is:

How can Eternity have an End?

It is like referring to dry fish in the sea or the sweet smell of shit - these things can't exist.

It reminds me of a Commodore 64 game called The Fifth Quadrant. WTF?!

@ Mark

Its called an oxymoron....same goes for your example of the "dry" fish in water. Sad to say, due to the weird and bizzare people in the world we happen to live in, your last example a matter of opinion rather than an ablsolute oxymoron. Seems to be the next big thing with naming games.. a recent example is "Little Big Planet".

"Gameplay appears to be somewhat untraditional for a JRPG: The field is built with hexes, recalling an old-school strategy game like Military Madness. Dungeons, however, play out in traditional third-person, and enemy encounters are seamless. In battle you'll control one of three maximum party members, participating in "semi-realtime" skirmishes with an emphasis on gunplay -- perhaps the feeling will be similar to Sega's own Valkyria Chronicles. "

Yes, I'd say you're out of touch. SH-TLH was an incredible jrpg. Hell, I just finished my first playthough at 150 hours. I have AT LEAST 2 more playthroughs.

Very engaging game, and it can be as deep as you want it to, or a button masher should you choose that direction.

I must be too old school. One of the key elements, for me, in a RPG was turn-based gameplay.

Seems most RPG's are getting rid of the turn-based system entirely. I personaly did NOT have a problem with Final Fantasy's before part 10, Knights of the Old Republic or Dragon Warrior battle systems.

*sigh*

Eh... I'd get excited but I don't know if this is the good Tri Ace (Valkyrie Profile) or the bad one (Star Ocean).

Hey, you never know! Guns in a franchise (especially a new one) might be a good thing! Just look what it did for Shadow the Hedgeho-

...oh, wait.

The guy on the right's face bothers me for some reason... anyways it looks like this game will feature a fairly innovative battle system similar to VC - sega publishing the game is a testament to this. An old fashion SRPG hex-grid field with shooting elements incorporated sounds like very similar to sega's recent hit. Looks like I will be buying this one. Hopefully it comes to the U.S. before too long.

From The Magic Box

"Sega and Tri-Ace have officially announced a new RPG called End of Eternity for PS3 and Xbox 360, the game has a sci-fi fantasy setting like Final Fantasy, the story is about a gigantic, tower like machine named Basel, which was built to rescue human from extinction, due to the fact that human can no longer survive on the surface of the planet due to environmental problems.

The three protagonists are revealed: Subject #20 is a 19 year old girl who escaped from an experiment which would kill her at the age of 20; Zephry is a 17 year old boy from PMF (Private Military Firm); and Vashyron is a 26 year old ex-soldier.

The battles will be semi-realtime, and will have third person shooter and strategic elements. You can visually see enemies on the field, the game [will] seamlessly transition into battles, and up to 3 characters can battle simultaneously. There will be massive gun battles in the game."

Yet another crappy tri-Ace battle system I bet. Then again, the big steampunk clockwork looking tower city thing is so awesome looking, who cares about poor gameplay?

Then again, the weird hex grid map looking thing in the top right of the battle screen is interesting. There also seems to be some battlefield hex grid overview or something. Screens on famitsu's site: http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1223411_1407.html
