You know, Frankfurt has given us so much. There's Saint Bartholomeus' Cathedral, Hauptwache, to say nothing of the annual Festival of Stoneware. Now, the German city's own Crytek is giving you yet another gift: A free trial of the multiplayer-only Crysis Wars, beginning today and wrapping up April 17. You can find all the details here.
Also announced this morning: Crysis: Maximum Edition, which includes Crysis, Crysis: Warhead and Crysis Wars, bundled together for latecomers to the series for $39.99 beginning on May 5. ... What, you thought Frankfurt would give you that for free too? You've already got Wäldchestag, how much more do you need?
[Update: The trial's apparently not going to start until around 3 p.m. EST. Sorry about the confusion.]

$40? I was holding off to pick up Crysis until I could come up with a decent idea for a Total-Conversion Mod just to toy around with the engine, but to get all three for $40, I might be paying a bit sooner than I had originally anticipated! :D

That's am amazing low price. I bought a few games from there and they are dirty cheap, espicially when their 48 hours madness deals hit the place.

I've been waiting for my tax return to get that laptop. I went to Best Buy last night, and to my dismay, it was gone! In it's place, though, was a laptop that looked almost identical as far as specs and features (still packs the 9800m gs with 512mb dedicated video memory), and had a slightly neater, albeit still very cliché, graphicon the case. $50 less than the G50 they had previously. I really can't wait to get it tho, since my desktop died a long time ago, an my computing is limited to my GF's celeron 2.0ghz!
I'm glad to hear that you like it and that it runs Crysis well. I'm super psyched to get it, though I still have a good couple of months before I see my tax return >:0

Are you fucking blind yo? KZ2 looks nice but Crysis blows it away.

Smooth,
Ah...I see you're a fan of lens flare abuse, bloom overuse, and a never ending cycle of color devoid environments that offer nothing more than decent particle effects to offset their bleakness. As much as I love Killzone 2, it's nowhere near the same league as Crysis visually.

Wow, this sounds pretty sweet. Going to throw this on the dedicated server at work for some break time/after work LAN action. Thanks for the heads up!
From the website.
If you don't own Crysis Wars, this is a unique occasion for you to download the FULL game with its 3 game modes and 23 maps. As soon as your download is over, you will be able to play on LAN with your friends for free.
Q: Can I really play LAN for free?
A: Yes, you are allowed to install the game on as many machines as you want. As soon as you have enabled the online activation, you are able to play on LAN for as long as you wish.

It'd be REALLY realistic if those plants were actually green. Fuck next-gen color

I've had Crysis Warhead since around it came out, am I the only one who really hated Crysis Wars, I mean I think I've played it a total of 30 minutes ever, just couldn't get into it, felt like a really bad version of Counter Strike. Also I've never even played the single player all the way through, maybe I'm just a bad gamer, but I could not get into these games. I went in thinking "wow my computer can actually run this game well and the graphics look amazing", but once I actually got into the gameplay, it was pretty lackluster.
