He used to teach at Full Sail until his health started to deteriorate and then he had a stroke, or so I was told. A couple of months ago he came to school again and met up with a few people before officially leaving it.

BTW, Full Sail is a fully fledged university now.

JonLerner's right. Full Sail has officially become Full Sail University (and has been that for approximately a year now). No longer is it that silly "Real World Education" like when I started there.

I don't actually remember. The months kind of blend together into mush after a while, ya know? I do know I started December 2007 and I graduate some time this year.

Full Jail: Real World Incarceration! (So said one of my classmates. I didn't agree, FWIW -- Full Sail was the coolest damn school I ever went to.)

I graduated back in '99, I think that was the first year they even had the game design program so that must have been before Dave got there.

I became a D&D player about 2 years ago after years and years of playing video games. This year, I'm part of a group of all my closest friends that get together every two weeks and play and laugh and have a good time. It's taken my experience, perception and appreciation of games in general to new places. This weekend's game we'll be toasting a brew to Dave :)

Too bad that's where your sex life seemed to end. I mean, having sex all the time to not have any time at all to a game here and there? But yet, now you have the time to post inane comments on a gaming blog?

Don't worry, I feel for you.

Show some respect. Even if you don't like DnD he was obviously a very influential guy who was admired by a lot of people many of whom are here.

Last I checked, masturbating isn't considered sex.
Look at me! I can act superior on the internet too!

I may never have played D&D; but I shall roll a 6 (I don't have a 20) sided die and take that amount of shots to honor the man. RIP.

Oh, and people were sharing some of the old Gygax memorial comics in the thread confirming his death. Here are a couple for Dave:

I wonder how many others have impacted culture and technology in the way Arneson and Gyax did? Not many, I'm sure.
