Anyone knows how good the console controls are versus the PC version?
Not for the all gunds blazing FPS guys though. Wonder what other people here think about the stealth elements of the game? wish someone came out with Thief 4, really miss that awesome series.

I've been playing the game for a couple hours on all the modes, and its ok, definitely not the best or worst. Out of 100 I'd give it a 77/100.

I agree with you. 76/100 would be way too low, and only an insane person would dare give it 78/100!

Given that I still have the PC version somewhere, would you rather recommend me picking this one up with enhanced graphics and all or stick to my shitty looking 2004 version?

Buzz,

As much as it pains me to say it, stay with the original. The PC port of Dark Athena has 3 installations. That's it. There's no revoke tool (or one anywhere in sight) and you don't get an activation back if you uninstall the game (as is the case with some, but not all, EA games that used SecuROM). Once you burn up those installs, you either have to A) rebuy the game or B) pray Atari's going to take a page from EA. If there's one thing driving people away from the PC as the gaming platform of choice beyond oft repeated misconceptions (i.e. constant upgrades or how expensive it is), it's draconian, completely useless DRM schemes like those included with Dark Athena.

From the WorthPlaying review: "just with a small new segment taken from the PC port."

Was the PC version of Escape a port? Wouldn't the Xbox version be the port from the PC? I remember the PC version of the game looking absolutely amazing. It was "next-gen" before there was a next-gen.

This game was fantastic and the original XBox, and now it's in HD. Looks great, with a few minor issues regarding the lipsynching. But it just goes to show how kickass the original was for the time.

And this is definitely one of the best games for setting mood and tone right off the bat. A lot of games take too long to actually make you feel like you are part of the experience. Riddick nails the atmospher right away and makes you feel like a badass slinking around the shadows, snapping necks and knifing people. Plus the FPS hand to hand combat is great. Definitely recommend this to any FPS fan.

Been playing through it, and it is quite enjoyable, but then again, I meet the criteria for what this is being geared towards, I never played the first game before. You can tell that the models and the lip syncing are last gen, but with the HD upgrade, it looks as good as some of the other games out there. Multi is fun, but like everyone has said, it's cookie cutter with the exception of Pitch Black. Definitely could have used some sort of experience system to entice people, but it would fall into what everyone else is doing, so I dunno.

I personally recommend it to people to at least play, I'm personally buying this cause I love it.

The models and lip syncing are geared towards the Butcher Bay portion of the game of course. Assault has obviously improved that.

Don't care for what the reviews say. I'm buying just b/c it's Butcher's Bay, which was unavailable to PS owners until now (unless you owned an Xbox too).

I just keep hearing that it received alot of great reviews but that not that many people played it.

I haven't played it when it first came out because I only had a PS2. Now that I own a Xbox360 I'll rent it to see what all commotion is about.
