So, thanks to Geoff Keighley's journalizing, we have a good idea of what we can expect from the first batch of Killzone 2 DLC and a hint of what's to come. The first, called "Steel and Titanium" (finally, some gray in Killzone! -- ed.) will feature two maps, one set on the ISA tech cruiser "New Sun" and featuring more vertical gameplay, and one aboard two Helghast freight trains that can be leapt between, if you're willing to brave the environmental hazards. Go here and skip to 7:50 to see for yourself.
Guerrilla boss Herman Hulst went on to reveal that the 2nd DLC pack would include the word "Retro" and would likely include some Killzone 1-related content. So, what would you like to see make the jump to modern day?

I think there's no question the DLC won't be free. The only times I've seen DLC free has been when a game has not been able to generate massive hype and sell a lot of copies. Killzone 2 has been able to generate massive hype and sell a lot of copies, so no doubt, Guerilla will be looking to cash in on that.

Hell I want the option to upgrade sentry bots. there is NO reason why them shits' shouldn't shoot rockets at people as well as Air Support bots...

t depends on the map, I know they will be uselesss on the 2 new maps as they are both closed in.
But I got that Air Support badge pretty fast. it just took me a few weeks to get the very last ribbon, but the rest were easy. that was before everyone wanted to be an engineer tho. Now its hard as hell

If Guerilla is smart, the maps will be free. Everyone is still really bitter from the Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode issue. I suggest either giving it a few months to let everything die down or let the maps be free - it's only two ... and aren't these based off levels that are in the game already?

Just a quickie- as a mapper, I can tell you that simply being based on a sp map doesn't really make creating the mp map is really any easier. If you compare the sp maps in kz2 to the mp, you'll notice that there are very few locations that are actually even similar.
Playtesting and balancing mp maps takes forever too. Even if they were to start out with the exact same sp map as the base for the mp map, an incredible amount of testing, and then changing and retooling to balance the map is required.
Soo.. There's very little that basing these mp maps off of sp maps that would cut development time for them. Just food for thought :)

If you look closely at the train level they showed, its actually quite different from the train level in the single player. Obviously, there are two trains there instead of just one. But if you look at what's on the deck of the train its different from the single player level. It doesn't look like they just cut and paste the level in.
The New Sun level looks the same though.
I hope they add in a feature to push people off the edge of the train and into those barriers, and give you a ribbon for doing it.

The trains map sounds like a blast - brings back fond memories of levels from Timesplitters FP and Everyting or Nothing.

I watched the GT TV last night and while I think it's awesome we are getting premium DLC I hope that its a feasible price considering it's only two maps in this newest update. I want another pyruss rise esque map that large and wide open with good sniping spots.

Ok, so skipping the less important issues like cost and the nature of DLC, I'll comment: I thought I was done with KZ2's mp for the most part, but knowing they're about to release that train level... I might have to come back :) that was like my favorite from the campaign. So intense.
